Is anyone here into magic? Can anyone recommend a good book or something that teaches Sleight of Hand...and stuff like that? (yes its Sleight, not slight)
I know some basic things, but i wanna get into some of the more complex tricks and stuff, not simply makin stuff disappear and re-appear. Like some of the tricks David Blayne or Criss Angel come up with...like the card tricks and stuff. Obviously, it takes practice, but how the hell do u learn some of these tricks those guy's come up with? Most of the magic books ive read all deal with stage magic and not "street" magic...any books on street magic?
Ive been tryin to figure some of their tricks out and I cant, sucks

He is from NL, but good..
and also he give shows around the world!
nice thread about this, and good luck with your tricks |
I tried...havent found any good sites or articles...like, there must be a method or something to these tricks as each one is slightly different, but the same ya know....im looking for something like "An idiots guide to putting a quarter through a pop can" or something like that
Criss Angel has a Dvd that teaches u how to do the quarter through a soda can trick, but i wanna use my own...there's gotta be a basic "this is how u trick ppl into thinking something has penetrated something" method out there that u can expand on
I mean, makin small shit disappear, like cigarettes and tooth picks and quarters and stuff is kinda easy, although, I havent mastered the advanced techniques yet - its all basically misdirection and power of suggestion...but some of the other stuff, like standing 4 or 5 feet away from someone, having them give u say their watch and then u make it disappear and reappear in their pocket, without touching them, is fuckin baffling and I cant figure out how its done...thats the shit i wanna learn, but i dont even know where to begin

I wouldn't call a tube sock duct-taped to the vacuum cleaner a girlfriend.
But, as Pinocchio once said;
"I'm a real boy!"

Rhox used in a deck can be SICK. But only if used right and you draw him. I did the same. I bought 2 starters and sold 1 rhox.

Yeah man....its wacked how so many tricks are so simple and are set up...even tho they dont look like it...I know tons of card tricks and stuff, and how to make fire "appear" in ur hand and the "flaming wallet" thing i have
Thats why I wanna learn how some of the neatest tricks are done. Like the Soda Can trick, supposedly Criss Angel and some other guy developed the trick from scratch (i guess its different than david blayne's method's)....there must be a basic prinicple, written in some book, that can teach u generalized deception and misdirection, on that scale...
I saw a "Street Magic Kit" for 99.99 on Penguin Magic , i think, it teaches u how to do a buncha tricks david blayne does, like that one where he throws a deck of cards at a window, and the card the person chose is on the other side of the window, stuck to it facing outward...but still, I dont wanna spend close to $150 (after tax and shipping) and find out that its really really simple and or too hard for my current skill level - plus, I dont think magic tricks should be sold, but rather shared with those who are interested and wont divulge the secrets to anyone.
My favourtie one is making a cigarette or toothpick disappear, because its so simple, but so effective and neat

I was into magic a bit, I bought this book a while back and it had some really cool tricks. I freaked out a couple of people.
I would love to learn levitaion...I see some places you can buy video on how to. I watch Chris Angle all the time some things blow my mind.
One were he went into a jewlery store and made a ring go through the glass counter...I would love to do that one!

U can get a dvd for $100 bucks from Criss Angel that explains how to levitate horizontally for under $300...supposedly, other levitation techniques cost thousands in props...I want that....and I'd assume the ring through the glass is the same as a quarter through a soda can....fuck i want that dvd
