Its more like ETM than TMO, but it looks way better, you get to play through all the classic moments of all three films, so basically the first film.
Saying that, the fight in the rain with smith should be pretty damn sweet, my only hope is that they have a very solid martial arts combat system, a poor one would really ruin it for me.

I personally think it will suck ass like all matrix games before.
Why do you think it will be any better?
Bullet time? Again? Pffff....

It may be a mortal sin to say it, but i didnt think ETM was THAT bad.
I think it will be better because we finally get to play as the character weve wanted to all along, name any other game where you can stop bullets with your mind, walk and run up walls, and practice inhuman martial arts on creepy bank manager looking types?
It being the matrix is irrelevant, if there was a game just like this without a movie franchise id play it too, im not saying it WILL be good. Just optimistically hoping.

Enter the Matrix was actually a quality game. From start to finish. I hope this is the same in that sense, but not the same in that it's basically a rehash with newer graphics.

What didn't you like about it?
For me when I played it I got the sense of this being a GAME. It's a difficult feeling to describe but it's not often I enjoy playing games these days. But Enter the Matrix was one of the few exceptions. It just felt like a solid experience and I wasn't even a huge fan of the Matrix films.
Did it do bullet time better than Max Payne? No. In fact, you could list a long number of things in which it was second best at - everything really, including the graphics - but it's the whole experience for me that translated into some really enjoyable gameplay.

Shiny (the developers) released these screens for the PC:
http://media.pc.ign.com/media/729/729643/imgs_2.html
but according the the Gamespot preview, the PC version's graphics was almost similar to the PS2's graphics which can be found here:
http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/thematrixthepathofneo/screenindex.html
which is ugly as hell...
if the graphics are actualy like the PS2 version, i will probably not buy the game. not because i only want Uber graphics, but because developers shouldn't release wrong screenshots of the game just to get people hyped up about it.

i really hope that the new matrix will do it right cause the last one from 2003 sucked big time...it was i the the shitest game of that year lol 3 or 4 cd's of shit. i said to myself:" well...matrix movements ,gunfights, kong fu...what could go wrong" but against all the chances it sucked big time.
(its just my opinion and.... few others;)

Finally, some people agreeing with me on ETM, it was hella-fun
captured the movie-feeling from the matrix and the martial arts moves looked cool, even if the graphics wasn't that good!
Really looking forward to Path of Neo, I actually have huge expectations on this!By now, I should have learned that games based on movies sucks, but still, I have hope for PoN. The alternate ending will be cool to see, also the fight against the gang of Smith from Reloaded will be cool, even though that gotta be the most unnecessary fight in the history of movies

Ispep, the driving sections in 'ETM' were horrific. How can you ignore those.

Like I said: each element in the game is second rate but the whole experience itself is all good in my opinion. I found the driving was actually well done in one way, I can't remember what it was though - it must be how the car turned when you moved. It looked like you were going high speed or something I can't remember.
Considering this is a third person beat em up style game having this as a side element was a good change of pace and it wasn't that bad at all. Half-Life 2's driving element might be more sophisticated technically but it was no more entertaining.
Now if you wanted to bring up the that flying sequence towards the end then fair enough - I kept going back the way I came because it was so disorientating.
But at the same time I consider it a GAME. You know. Whenever I used to play games they'd have these kind of things that you don't like but are compelled to complete and enjoy overcoming.

Stating all those reasons would take way too much time, but mainly for me it was the monotounous gameplay, horrid graphics, poorly acted low quality cut scenes, based on a franchise that was great at square one then fucked itself up with 2 other movies.
Hmmm guess it didn't take too long after all, but then I"m missing some things there too.

I thought the graphics were pretty prefunctory myself as well but then it did have to run on all of the console hardware and it would make sense from their standpoint to just do straight ports from each system rather than tailoring for each individual market. The game would have sold had it been complete and utter shite on the name brand alone.
Gameplay was repetitive perhaps. Less so than Max Payne 1 & 2 however which I wonder how you rate them?
Poorly acted? I agree. But the same can be said for the movies themselves so it's not really out of character. When I first played the game I thought - fuck me this is going back to the interactive movie days.... but then I watched the sequels and thought.. hang on - it was just being faithful to the screen version.

I thought the ladder climing animations in ETM where the greatest I have ever seen in any game ever.
