|
 |
Hope I´m not the only one still having this problem... I was hoping we who have this problem could work together and find a fix. We get this problem when we start BF2, the screen turns black and then quits to desktop.
I think the problem is the graphic card/graphic settings (mostly with ATI chipset)
I´m using a ATI Radeon 9800pro
TODO to play BF2:
*uninstall BF2 - restart comp (must not)
*install BF2
*download the 103 patch (full name: Battlefield 2 patch v1.03 CTD fixed CLIENT x86 build 0027).
*install the patch - make sure to get the mini Image and installfile for anti-blaxx also.
*install anti-blaxx
*mount the BF2 miniImage (loc. in the install dir.) with daemon tools
(think all the miniImages will work, there are several on the internet)
*set up anti-blaxx for BF2 (in settings)
*run BF2 with Anti-blaxx
the game should now start, but for some of us the game then quits to dekstop.
I´ve read several forums to find a fix for the problem, but I can´t find one that works (with my comp...)
things that could fix the problem:
*set desktop res. to 800*600 at 60Hz
*download Microsoft Framework and run DXtwaek to do some changes in graphic settings .
Sites I´ve found that try to fix the problem:
http://www.tweakguides.com/BF2_3.html -
http://www.epcgaming.com/forums/index.php?showforum=39 - epcgaming forum
I have not tried to install older drivers for the graphic card. have tried with Catalyst 5.9 & 5.10
Any ideas?

This is a common problem with Battlefield 2. No one really knows how to fix it or what is wrong.
Some people had success with a total reformat and reinstall of windows, for others it disappeared after a while.
I had CTD's a while but solved it by reinstalling the game and appyling the 1.03 patch. Oh btw, Anti-Blaxx is not needed if you have custom named buses for Daemon-Tools. With mini-images some seem to work better than others. The one that is supposed to work best is the one from BleH! (I use that one and several others does too).
Behold his GLORY! Bow for the technical master!

my monitor tells me that there is no fitting resolution chosen and reccomends 1280x1024@60hz but then just quits back to desktop...
either we need a cracked 1.03 exe and dll or i gota wait till a 1.04 patch drops with a fix...

WOHOOOO!!!! it´s working!!!! (v.103)
I solved the problem on my computer by removing f*king Microsoft.net framwork!!!!
remove it if u have it, restart comp, uninstall bf2, delete everything in regedit (about bf2; do a copy first), restart, reinstall, and then do as I wrote in the first message.
btw. as cosmiq said; u do not need anti.blaxx to play the game, just daemon tools and the mini image.
Hope u get it to work!
