How do I preview .avi movies while downloading them?
I know it's possible and that I need a program to do it, but which one?

make sure you have videolan installed.
In emule, go to options/files

and all the way down in videoplayer set the player to videolan:
C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe

uncheck the backup box. Smile


then right click on the file you wanna preview and select preview if its available.

The settings are as you mentioned, but the program isn't installed. When I right click on a movie and select preview, if it's mpg it works and if it's avi it doesn't, nothing happens.
I'm downloading videolan, we'll see if it solves the problem

keep in mind that you cannot preview some files. Some files you can only preview if some % is downloaded fromit.

mpg files mostly can be previewed, compressed avi files cant, you could take the temporary file and rebuild its index using divfix.
that way you can play it.
