Okay... I bought the game (no, really.. I bought it) yesterday and I've been having problems with it (actually.. it happened with the demo as well)

My game runs like I am on Fast Forward mode on DVD (you know, when you're watching DVD, and then you just fastforward it? yes.. missing a few frames and the game goes super fast)

My system spec is as follow
DFI Lanparty NF4 SLI-DR
Athlon 64 X2 4400+
Corsair Value Select 1GB x 2 (2GB)
BFG 7800 GTX

I heard it may be a problem with my CPU (I need a driver file for it? :S)

Dual-Core CPU Issues

If you run a dual core CPU, such as a Pentium D or AMD X2, or even a Pentium 4 with HyperThreading, you may notice that the game is quite jerky even at high framerates. Things seem to run fast and slow randomly - this is because the game has compatibility issues with dual core CPUs. So not only is there no performance boost with dual core CPUs, there are actually issues which require the following steps to be resolved:

Setting Processor Affinity Manually: Launch Need for Speed: Most Wanted, and as soon as the game appears to begin loading, or after it has loaded up, press CTRL+ALT+DEL to bring up the Task Manager. Under the Processes tab, find the SpeedDemo.exe process, right-click on it, select 'Set Affinity' and in the box which appears, untick 'CPU 1'.

Setting Processor Affinity Automatically: If you want to force the game to only use one of your CPUs automatically each and every time you run the game, see the instructions *here* for using the Imagecfg utility, a small Windows NT file you can safely copy into your \Windows\System32 directory and then use to permanently set the affinity for particular programs.

I thought it was quite laggy as well, so i fiddled around with the gfx-settings and found out i can run everything maxed out if i dont use any shadows. Dont know why the shadows are taking so much juice since they're not even especially nice.

My spec: 3200+, 1gb ram, x800gt

Gaming - Intel Quad Q9450 @ 3.2GHZ | Radeon HD 4870 X2 2GB | SB X-Fi | PC6400 8GB | 300GB Velociraptor
HTPC - Antec Fusion Remote | AMD Athlon 7850 X2 | PC6400 2GB | 74GB Raptor
Server - Athlon 64 X2 4200+ | Radeon HD 3450 | SB X-Fi | PC5300 2GB | 4TB+ total space

I have the problem described in Scyphe's post. I get high framerates but the game runs quite jerky, it runs slow and fast randomly. Sadly the solution described didn't help at all. I tried all video options from lowest to highest in all resolutions, but nothings changed. Tried different catalyst drivers with no luck. The problem persists, even if i play in 640x480 with the lowest quality.

My specs are:
P4 3Ghz
1GB Ram
X800XL

I should be able to play the game at least in 640x480 without these slowdowns, dont you think Wink Any help greatly appreciated.

I have a P4 3.2 with HT and although I get "jerks" they are VERY slight and don't change the gameplay at all, just to put out information that this may not be a Hyper Threading issue completly.. I have 2Gb of RAM, maybe this is a RAM/HT issue?

P4 3.2
2Gb RAM
6800GT 256

Game: Everything on full and 1280x1024

Hyperthreading isn't causing the problems i think. It must be something else. After playing for two hours the game became really slow, like a slideshow, the sound was stuttering too. But after a few seconds the game was back to it's normal jerkyness Wink. It wasn't a heat issue, the temps were fine, and all other games are running fine. I really hope there will be a patch soon

Thats because you havent turned up the refresh rate on the reflections in the GFX options Razz.
