I am trying to update my bios. I have a laptop a Compaq Evo N800c and when I try to update my bios it asks for a password. I have never set a password and do not know how to reset it. Also I tried to restart and then go to system settings by pressing F10 but it askes me for a password there also. Programs can I use to reset my password?

Unplug your laptop, take out its battery, then crack it open and take out the CMOS battery. Wait a day, put everything back in, and if your lucky it will be cleared out.

Could be a default, if MCharts answer doesnt help try the website or asking who you bought the laptop from!
