|
 |
hi,
i have a problem.
My windows XP home isnt starting anymore.
<windows folder>system32/blabla.dll could not load when i boot.
So i thought, a file is corrupt, just insert bootdisk and Win cd and copy that file.
but apparently i cannot find the HD anymore when i boot with a bootdisk, nor can i see it on the startup screen where master and slaves appear.
It has come to my notice that the HD though isnt an IDE drive, but the rest of the drives(DVD, cd writer) are IDE.
So i was wondering if the fact that the HD is SATA might be the problem, because win98 bootdisk are not capable of finding them? wild guess
any suggestion on what to do?
Just reinstall windows, or is there a way to copy those files.
thx in advance,
spankie

Boot with Knoppix or even better ERD Commander, CIA Commander or Bart's PE and copy the file. But i'm not sure if copying the file would really help. I've seen many windows installations wich were complaining about missing files, and copying didn't solve the problem. But i would of course try that first.
