Gigganews is killer.

You get 10 connections, unlimited for 24 something USD a month.
or 50 GB for 19 something a month.

I use Newshosting.com
$14.95 USD per month for 4 connections / unlimited usage.
With those 4 connections I max out my 5mbit line.
Have been with em for like 6ish months, no problems whatsoever (there were a few minor issues, but they corrected em quickly and kept me informed).
Highly recommend em.

The Giganews deal sounds pretty sweet too..but my line doesn't need anymore than 4 Sad

Damn I hope we get FIOS soon...although I know that aint happening

Hey this sounds like a good deal to me. werid pricing though. Why would I pay for the 25gb for $20!!! than they have unlimited for 14.95...thats werid isn't it.

Limited Cost
10G/month $10
25G/month $20
50G/month $30
60G/6mo $50
150G/6mo $100
300G/6mo $150

Unlimited Cost
Monthly $14.95
6mo $83.70
12mo $155.40

I know. It is wierd pricing, dunno what's up with it. I think the UNLIMITED accounts don't get access to like e-mail newsgroups or some shit like that.
It really is unlimited though. I've been hitting roughly 400gb a month lately, and they haven't bitched Very Happy

Are you located in Canada? Dunno how great the speeds would be. Apparently they're in Ohio. But like I said, I'm in TX and the 4 con. max out my line. So take that for what its worth.

Also note that I haven't upped anything via their service, so not sure how they rank in that department.

giga news is too expensive for what it is. You usually only need big retention for the first time you join otherwise if you miss something within 30 days you had fair warning.

I use the same as immunity, and I max out my 10mbit line.

Newshosting is the best i've used so far, and i've used a few.

Giganews has 56 day retention on binaries.

Im from Canada and Giganews is amazingly fast. Faster than my direct shaw connection. I get 4.8 MB/s on a 5.0 MB line Smile

hmm fairly good deal, but does anyone here from germany has experience with newshosting?
the german newsgroup providers that i know are pretty fishy and expensive, some of em allow you only 500 MB per day, which is rubbish.
and does it have a free test period of a few days, cuz i d like to check it first before i give the green light for my bank account.

edit: bleh doesnt matter actually, i dont have any of the listed credit cards, am using the one from my bank, too bad they dont have other payment options Sad

It doesn't have any "free trial" that I know of Sad

Perhaps contact them through e-mail and talk to em. They seem very customer friendly, they may be able to work something out for you.
If not, worst case scenario you are down $15 after trying for a month (don't know how many deutchmarks that is )

heh, no more deutschmarks here, its all in euros, i think it d be between 12 and 13 euros which is nothing. the prob is as stated above they only have these few credit cards as payment options, so there s nothing i can do.

edit: i just got a mail back from the newshosting support, it says that payment through paypal is accepted, but that way you only have the 6 months and the 12 months option.
that means i would have to pay these 83 dollars at once, so no chance to properly test it first. well i ll probably take the offer, its pretty cheap in comparison to other providers.
