I have a legit windows xp profesional cd thats activated on my main pc. However any attempt at installing the disc on another computer and using one of the many hundreads of pre-made keys around spit out an invalid key. I have read nothing about different versions of an install disc and thus different sets of keys for each. Anyone able to shed some light?

So you installed XP Pro on one machine using a valid key, right?
And you are trying to install the same XP Pro on another pc using a generated/fake key, right?
Have you tried installing the OS on the second machine using your legit key?
Are you using a keygen or pregenerated keys?

My guess is that the XP Pro that you have has SP2 already on it. Does it?

I ask because from what I understand MS blocked many of fake keys with their second service pack.

afaik, MS has never made a version of windows cd's with xp2 slipstreamed. It is purly a user made process. So no, my legit xp cd would not have SP2 on it yet. It does say its a version "2002" cd though. So yea I have it installed on one pc with the legit key, but on the second pc I want to use a fake key. I don't want to use the legit again because I don't want the key usage to reflect any missuse.

The keys I got were premade. One wich I actually used with a downloaded version of xp I had a long time ago and varified by me also did not work on the legit CD (I have since gotten rid of that cdr version of xp). I have downloaded one of those huge all in one xp install disc with sp2 and the kitchen sink, but it attempts to install a nforce1 driver that bluescreens the installation.

Oops, your right, about XP with SP2 on it. I was sure I had a legit copy like that, but I just realized it has only SP1 integrated. I know for a fact that SP1 does ban at least 2 corporate keys, but I'm not sure what's the root of your problem. Try generating new keys, see if that works, if it doesn't pm me, I'll send you a valid real/key.
