Thanks, I am some kinda person who doesn't reply much (I only follow topics) but it kinda suprissed me that there wasn't a topic for this game yet, which is pretty popular in my eyes (well, not for me, it's not my type of game, but still for many people it is). So just made a good template, by watching at the way other (good) people make them:)

A question: do i need to have both the original cd-key of expansion and the base or only of the expansion to play online?

I guess you need both because this is an ADD-ON, not a STAND ALONE version

Yes you can use the same account as BF2. When I ran the game it just brought up the BF2 login screen with my account as before and everything is the same apart from the extra maps. No need to change controls etc...

Yeah exactly as it was for BF2 original. At first I tried some servers and they worked with the fake keys, but after a while none did. So it is very probable that they will make you buy your own cd-key. After all it's $30 so it must have it's own valid cd-key.

I am aware that I will have to buy the game on Friday to play online but I just wanted to try it out first as I always do with the BF series. Got to say though the maps rock Smile

This expansion has always looked stupid to me. To base an expansion around an entire character class seems like it'll throw off the balance since everyone will wanna play this special forces class now, and we'll just have a bunch of SF guys running around playing deathmatch.

Or am I wrong?

After playing a couple of rounds on Single player it feel pretty ok. Nightvision is pretty cool and theres also teargas and of course gas mask, fuckin awesome when you want to storm a room. But the real experience will be online and since theres only 3 empty server right now, i cant go try it out...oh yeah, most US weapons are new ones but the unlockable seems the same.

Ok well I'm trying to figure out if I have two machines infected right now. Anyone else get that with the "Alcoholclone-PCGAME" release?

Well i got the first release from last night (not from PCGAME) and got no problems. But i remeber with Quake 4, Kaspersky was going nuts on the install. Some AV detect something as a virus when its not.

Guys, seriously. If you don't know how to unpack something, then google it.
If the problem is the source-material (eg. you have broken archives) it's got nothing to do with the PC Games section.

---

This expansion unfortunately, imho, detracts from the entertainment value of BF2. To me it looks like a cash cow. The only thing I appreciate is the night-maps, and the nightvision gear.

Yes, yes I'm back.
