siemens Sad
Intel Celeron M 1,6 ghz Sad

512 mb SDram. Sad

why not buy a pentium4 as processor? don't come with the excuse that centrino has a longer battery, because on most schools you can pluing in your ac adapter.

or put in some extra ram.

ofcourse, depends what you use if for school with. Smile

The Celeron M CPU aint bad as you might think Smile

The only real difference between that and a centrino is that it can't raise or lower the voltage depending on the performance Smile
So not bad Smile

Though the 512 mb sdram is kind a dull though but hey it might run AOE 3, Most Wanted and COD 2 with loweest settings so what the hell Very Happy

no it isn't sdram means "Synchronous Dynamic Random Access Memory", there are plenty of other technologies to "build" RAM, like SRAM, DRAM, SDRAM, RDRAM or even DDR-SDRAM. I'm sure you were thinking of DDR Ram, but it is of the same technology architecure and is therefore called DDR-SDRAM.

Doubt that you can play the latest fps games with the GMA chip, try it with lower resolutions like 640x480 (although that resolution sucks on a widescreen Wink )

@syn: I thought Intel would supply you with a nice laptop, don't you work on their websites at home too, companys like that always demand you to be "at work" all the time over here, even at home, that's why they give a notebook to everyone, i wish i had none and could give it back :/

I did have a nice shiny laptop, but I don't work for them anymore, so they took it back! *shakes fist* I got to keep my other toys, but I couldnt get away with sneaking that one out off the office on my last day Sad! Currently Im studying for a degree, with a side "job" coming up with AI controlled networking theories/game development.. today I invented an improved P2P system for use with ... well anything.. but mainly MMO's.. but back to the topic at hand Smile!

Now is a good time to try out SOF2 or the MOHAA games again Wink

Plus, both can use widescreen resolutions too, but you have to play around with them a bit ... look HERE for more details Smile

well the prices in DK is quite fucked at that point Sad

well I havent tried lowering the resolution on COD2, but it can't make such a huge impact on the performance since it already was at 800*600... Sad
