It seems that Splinter Cell 4 will be entitled Double Agent (thanks Blues), as a post on Splinter Cell HQ shows that a trademark filed by Ubisoft on November 10 for Splinter Cell: Double Agent has been discovered. One thing is sure. Ubisoft will make the announcement quite soon.

Looks cool though I think we are running away from the realism which usually surrounds Tom Clancy marked games Sad

And ffs rename the thread Razz

I am looking forward to this. A couple of days ago I dug up SC CT from my pile of dusty games and I was playing it and at first I thought damn this game sure rocks but soon I got bored because we've basically been playing the same game since the first part only with upgraded graphics, gadgets and moves. SCCT is surley the best of the series, though I like the levels more in the first part. SC4 definitley looks like it's going in a more interesting direction, I know so little yet I am so interested, which was not the case since PT.

Anyways, i hope the gameplay gets a bit changed, can't say how though. But it's keeps the same game from SC1 till SC3.

Splinter cells stealth is far superior to MGS's. But it's story on the other hand is far inferior.

It depends whether you want gameplay over story. I mean, if a game has great gameplay it will keep you playing regardless of the story, but if a game has mediocre gameplay but an awesome story, that too will keep you playing.

I got an email from Ubisoft advertising this game. Said that Sam becomes a double agent in this, in order to infiltrate a group of terrorists and destroy them from the inside.
So I assume they make him commit crimes so he can be sent to jail, where he befriends a member of this terrorist organization. He escapes with this member and infiltrates the terrorist organization.
Sounds like another quality splinter cell game to me Very Happy

i dont agree with the stealth being superior.
its different, sc is all about hiding in the shadows and using gadgets, while mgs3 is all about fitting into the surroundings, using camo or boxes.
it depends on what you prefer in the end, i like the camo system in the jungle better, sc just gets me bored after a while, way too dark for my taste.

Yeah, using carboard boxes to hide, i'm sure most marines are taught that.

Far superior stealth to splinter cell... Laughing

You're a MGS fanboi, I didn't expect any less, now all we need is pallebrun.

I like MG series, but i think the "realistic" feel of Splinter Cell is far more attractive.
I loved metal gear in my PS1,untill i saw the MECH-Fucking-Giant-Thing i was like "wtf?????"
SC is more like "im-analizing-shit-that-can-happen-in-a-not-so-distant-future".
Needless to say that i'm a TC fanboy.I have almost the entire collection of his books

i didnt say mgs has superior stealth to splinter cell, i say theyre equal in their own ways, some prefer mgs stealth, some splinter cell.
even if i wasnt an mgs fanboy i d prefer its stealth system because in sc most levels are way too dark.
i admit though sc has better controls, mgs can get pretty confusing at times, but all that aside, everyone knows sam is just a cockfag compared to snake Wink

in that case this makes u sc fanboy

pliz don't even make me started about "We can't see him cause he's in the shadows"
so much for uberstealth Razz
and one more thing why upgrade gfx when 99% of the game u have to use nightvision
seems pointless they could stick with sc1 engine & gfx

answer from ubi;so u all stupid fuks get new 9800000000 ultra by that time for another 600$

Not at all, they have to make certain concessions for the sake of gameplay. Otherwise you wouldn't be able to see where sam is when he's in complete shadow. SC:CT is one of the best looking games i've ever played, if you don't have the hardware to realise that, well, thats your proplem.

If you want to argue this then you could also say "I can't see snake because he's in the 6 inch tall grass, even though i'm a foot away from him!". I don't know about you, but when people are in a lit environment, which has shadows, it's very difficult to see clearly in those shadows because you're eyes have to constantly adjust between the light and shadow. It's not the same as being in the compete dark.

This is true. Very Happy
Although it would be nice to see a hand to hand fight between them, maybe with knives. Obviously snake would win, but i'd be nice. CQC FTW!

But Snake can use his instant healing menu Sad
Fight wouldn't be cool if he could find herbs and heal himself...

P.S: You guys are comparing someone that fights really stealthy and someone that can easily play rambo and still win ( he can win vs the über-bosses with his guns without stealth!? )

Well you know what I mean, two extremely skilled hand to hand combatants duking it out using pratical forms of unarmed/melee combat would look great. Any movies with that in?

Like the snake vs boss fights in MGS3 except obviously a little more even. They looked great.

The stealth elements in MGS1 and MGS2 are pretty lame. MGS3 takes a step in the right direction concerning stealth, but still..... I mean.... you switch suits in an instant and a percentage displays how well you blend in with the enviroment somehow it has some childishness to it. Don't get me wrong I love MGS I own the first part and the second part I have enjoyed both and snake eater as well, It's cool and all but you can't compare it to the stealth in SC.

MGS3 uses the same thing that SC has been doing since the first part only in a more diverse way. It's basically staying in the shadows...which in MGS3 is the grass and sometimes the grass/soil has a different color and then you press two buttons to match the color, well well.... that's top notch stealth..... Once again I point out that I love MGS I am not bashing it but please keep the boys seperated from the men.... In SCCS IT's not just staying in the shadows, It's also sound that plays a big role, if you walk to fast the enemy will sence you, etc, if one of their partners are missing they get suspicious, but that's more of an AI thing.... another point that SC is far superior in, AI.

MGS is often labled a stealth game but It's more of an action game with stealth elements. In my eyes SC is the only true well made stealth game. MGS is more of a movie that you play but then without rails at some parts, if you get my drift. The sandbox is alot bigger in SCCT you have alot more options to play with your opponents than in MGS, the playground is just better suited for stealth. But then again MGS action > SC action. Sometimes I love to really pump it up with the M4 and sice people up with swords in MGS but sometimes I like to play the ninja that is unseen that truly controlls the fate of his enemies. It all comes down to taste in the end. Both great games.
