I've been using daemon tools and alcohol to play my computer backups but I was interested in installing a legit copy of Splinter cell Chaos theory on my computer. The only reason why I held out was because I've heard that the starforce protection could really fuck up stuff on your computer. So my question today is will it be worth it to install the game or is the risk too great to bother. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

I bought Chaos Theory earlier this year after getting tired of waiting for a cracked version. The Starforce shit hasn't messed up anything and daemon tools and alcohol work perfectly. Alot of Starforce fucks up your computer stuff you read on forums is BS. People don't like starforce because it's hard to crack. I'm sure some people might have had problems, but it's not everyone.

I bought Soldiers: Heroes of WWII and never had any problems with starforce, except a little lag when running that game sometimes but other games run perfectly.

No problems here with SC:CT, and you'd be missing out on an awesome game if you choose not to install it because of rumours you hear on the internet.

Yes, installing any Starforce game will cause your PC to explode in a thermonuclear mushroom cloud. It says so on the internet so it must be true Smile

You could think of thousands more.. the list goes on...

Thats cheaper...

15$ is cheaper

Well if you like Starforce modifications to your system, then install it. And sometimes weird shit happens because of that.

I've installed Splinter Cell - Chaos Theory, using Daemon Tool 4, It works!!! All you have to do is to upgrade to patch 1.0.5 and disconnect your optical drives from your computer. This way i played all the releases which used StarForce.
