|
 |
i saw this movie just now and I actually liked it for a one-time watch. I thought it would be worse. I liked it as a movie, not as DOOM, because it's not DOOM. It's just called that. I was thinking, before I saw it, that they would change the story a little bit, but they didn't. Instead they completely made up a new one! They pretty much took the whole main idea from the game and turned it into a metaphor. Plus, no fireballs, no plasma gun, only like 3 different sorts of "enemies" and other shit that I can't say. I don't wanna ruin anything for people who haven't seen it.Sso all I will say is that I hope this is like...a prequel or something. But even if it was, the amount they changed couldn't be made up for.
ah well, it was better than the game, I enjoyed it enough to watch it through to the end (which sucked btw). How about you guys? I know all you Doom fans probably made an uproar in the theatre or something. Anyone go up to the projector room and smash it? Drive your car through the theatre screen? Bite the guy sitting next to you?
btw Doom TC SVCD-PRODiGY is a good release I haven't seen it posted here. Aside from bits of out of sync audio it's exellent video quality.

I thought it was ok.
It was not good by any stretch of the imagination, but it also couldhave been a lot worse.
Was an entertaining 90 minutes or so, not something I would watch again though.

Doom and fans can't be in 1 sentance.
About Hitman: Movie (2007)
Vin Diesel is a hardcore gamer, and absolutely loves the Hitman series. For that reason I have faith that he wont destroy the movie.
Response: Well, Uwe Boll probably loved the Alone in the Dark games.

Worst movie of the year - characters sucks, plot sucked, acting sucked, effects...i guess they were ok but lack of storyline is a bad thing and overshadows the cool effects...and the rock should go back to wrestling and leave the acting to those who can do it.

The Rock deserves an oscar for couple of movies already.
Walking Tall is a masterpiece, Be Cool is simply a Cult Classic. Rundown is the best movie of 2003, and it's all because of his acting.
So shut up, the rock will win an oscar for Doom.

Well, I read a respectable reviewer state that the Rocks performance is probably the only redeemable aspect of the film.

Kommando wrote: | I just watched it and i pretty disapointed in the movie. First of all, theres only 2 creatures from the game and one of them is suppose to throw fireballs and not tongue for fuck sake. They barely speak about archelogical finds and no mention about opening the gate of hell that created all this mess (not sure if its in DOOM 3 or Resurection of Evil). So they basicly took the basic idea of the game and add some non sense crap to make a movie. Looks like Uwe Boll is behind that movie |
Spoiler: | The "monsters" were scientifically created in the movie. There's lots of mention of it and the 24th chromosome. |
Also:
Spoiler: | Did anybody else find it stupid that the humans could pass through those "doors" yet the monsters would get stuck?
+ They said the monsters healed 50x faster than humans ("almost instantly") yet when carmack changed his ear didn't heal... |
Everybody involved in this disaster should be shot.

well, the impression i got was that they suggested humans only had 23 chormosomes and the 24th made u superhuman, or supernasty ....depending if u were "good" or "bad" in nature...
Well, more reasons to hate the movie...seriously, i was pissed I actually sat through the whole thing...it gets more and more retarded...and the acting is...beyond horrible...the rock should go back to wrestling cuz he seriously cant act. He played a good fag in Be Cool, but every other movie he's been in, he's sucked...and his lil one liners are ridiculous...

I'm pretty sure it's just something they unlocked in the 24th chromosome. Like, they understood how many there are total, theres just something they found within the 24th particular one.
