the Nfo says "Remove all IDE drives and Play"

as i understand its Starforce Nightmare..

i installed the game and download Sfn latest version

my computer is built like that:

Primary IDE Master Location 0 : NEC 3540A

Bus Number 0, Target ID 0, LUN 0 : Hard Disk (S-ATA II)

now i tried on Sfn the following choices:
Disable ch1 - computer Stuck /Restart
Disable ATA - computer stuck /Restart
Disable CD - Game not works
Disable Pr.Master - Game Not Works

tried to enter Device manager and disable CD/SCSI(DT) manualy
game not works... also

any help will be appricated?
(a friend is suggest me to move DVD-ROM to Secodery Master cause maybe the Sfn catchs the Primary with the Serial-ATA also..?)

IN SFN:
disable node
disable cd
disable ATA
That was what I had to do to get it working... but everyone seems to have their own way..

I'm gonna download the game tomorrow,so about the disabling:IF it works, should I use the same things like I did to run TM Sunrise?
=> Disable node,disable cd?
And what about those ch1/ch2 or ata,I don't really know much about the position of my drives,etc...

it think that u need to use the same configuration as TM Sunrise the Starforce nightmare is "per" computer configuration and besides u can always check out the readme included

lol i found the answer and its Sweet
Daemon Tools Forums :
"A special note for nForce 3/4 users

The IDE controller that is used on nForce 3/4-based motherboards cannot be directly addressed by today's copy protections; as a result, SCSI blacklists don't work on those systems. If you are fortunate enough to have an nForce 3/4-based system, you should be able to run all the latest SafeDisc-, SecuROM- and StarForce-protected games with your IDE CD/DVD drives plugged in and working."

Stop talking pish about driver support in x64. Latest chipsets, graphics cards and so on all have 64-bit support now.

Also, of course there are updates for x64, install x64 fresh and enjoy downloading the 100 or so megs of updates. Another way of looking at that, is the flip side of the coin, perhaps the lack of patches and updates suggests its not a bug ridden pos like xp 32-bit is? Smile

Performance wise when actually using the os, it's the fastest os I've used. I'm not alone in thinking that either.

Anyhow, Prince of Persia works fine in x64 LastRite. I do hope your not using some old beta of x64. x64 is based apon Server 2003 SP1 x64 and should be detected as that. What does your POP configuration utility say for OS version?

Running in x64 here.

Damn it!

I Can't get this to work.

I mounted the image with DT4 and the game launches, I get to see the ubisoft log, the game title, but then when it says "loading" windows crashes. Blue screen with a .dll causing a problem (goes to fast for me to read), then it just restarts.
UPDATE: The dll file is an Nvidia dll NV4.dll I think.

I tried using different drivers but 8194 and 8195 are the only things that support the 7800GTX 512MB.

If I try to run the game after the computer crashes and restarts, I'm asked to run in safe mode or regular. If I choose safe mode, I actually make it past the loading point and into the "create profile screen" As soon as I enter a name and hit "create" the computer chrashes again, Fvkc!

Any ideas?

whats the problem ppl?
if its asking for another drive, all you have to do its just rename your virtual drive in regedit and thats it.
im runing ALL games with dt4 only.
just go:
start->run->regedit->HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE->system->mounted_devices
found your virtual drive in the list and rename it,like that:
\DosDevices\H.hiden:
play the games
but remember to do the same every time you restart the system, delete old renamed drive and rename the new one in list

romul22,
I can see other devices(virtual ones I guess) that aren't visible if I open "My Computer"
Should I rename them to hidden too?
EDIT:You're a genius!
I could play Stubbs and F.E.A.R(mounted) without using antiblah...
So you mean that it is possible to play PoP with this simple method

Finally got this game to work after being up all night searching for downloads, and then working for around two hours more to get it to start. Fortunately, it seems well worth it. Cool

What I did was first to attempt starforce nightmare and device manager disabling, but neither of them would enable me to get through the protection drive check. Then I opened the case and pulled out the power cables for my dvd rom and burner and tried again, and the protection check would now halt after 1/4 and then reboot my computer. Annoying beyond words.
I decided to give it a last shot, plugged everything back in and rebooted, reinstalled DT4 and enabled all emulation options (probably doesn't matter in this case), then shut down, pulled out the power cables of every non-essential drive I have (dvd rom, burner, second harddrive). Booted up again, held my breath, and almost jumped for joy when the Ubisoft intro popped up.

Going to check out the game a bit more now, and then grab some sleep. Good luck to you guys.

Hi all.
I have Epox 8RDA3+ and there is Sata Constroller Sil 3112
And I have this configuration
IDE 1:Nec DVD_RW ND-3540A - Master
IDE 2:Teac W540E - Master
SATA Sil 3112
Chanel 0 - HDD 1
Chanel 1 - HDD 2
And I made that,
I just disable "IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers" disable in Device Manger
There was NVIDIA nForce2 ATA Controller (2.6)
Example if you have 1 HDD and 1 CD-ROM
And each on the separated IDE then if you have in Device manager Primary .............. Controller
Secondary ..... controller then just disable the controller on which you have your cd-rom.
