Thats right hockey fans it's boxing day and that inevitably means it's time to start the world junior tournament.Canada looks poised to get off on the right foot leadin Finland 4-0 after 2 periods.Anyway I just wanted to know do you follow this tournament each year and who do you think has the best chance of taking gold this year?
Obviously I'm rooting for Canada but it looks like no team inparticular is favoured over the rest, although some say the US is the favorite but I find that hard to believe as almost their whole defence is yong and inexperienced. Some say Russia but there's questions about their Goaltending.Canada is young and inexperienced also with only Cam Barker returning but I think they're gonna take it if they can play the whole tournament like the played the first two periods of this game, physical rough and tough game wearing down the opponents defence and forcing and capitalizing on turnovers.
Personally I love this tournament as I get to watch the top prospects from all over the world play hockey. Some will never make it to the NHL but they're still hella fun to watch as juniors and some will make their mark on prospective teams and cement their future in the NHL.It's a great time of year ain't it?
GO CANADA GO!!!!!!!!

It was a thing of beauty,a whole team effort,no superstar to-be players overshadowing others etc.Everyone knew their role and played it perfectly the entire tournament. Two in a row hopefully next year we'll make it three.I hope Brent Sutter comes back and coaches one more year he's done a terrific job and is one hell of a coach.I'm already looking forward to next year!!!!Very Happy
