|

Im guessing there are a lot of people who still do not have a 360 but those that do or are considering getting one, if you had to, would you give up Xbox Live to use homebrew if you could only choose between the two? My answer would be yes.

No, not at the moment.
Maybe in time, but at the moment I have no problem paying for the games I want.
What i will prolly do is get a second system in a years time (as I did with my xbox) for modding, but keep one retail.

never played on xbox Live on my xbox, never will for xbox360, i have no online friends so don't need Live, console's should be for single playing games only, so many games these days don't include a decent single player mode yet try to get you to play online against a bunch of spotty, annoying kids, if i wanted to do that i'd use my PC, but i don't play games online as when i tried in the past you always get someone who ruins it for everyone else by being a dick!

I´m glad that they haven´t modded the 360 yet, it´s so much more fun buying 1-2 games per month and playing the hell out of them instead of having 20 games which i play like 5 minutes and then try another. Hope they never hack the 360 since i want to enjoy my games the fullest.

I don't give a shit about online gaming so it won't be a problem at all for me to sacrifice all the Live crap to play backups. I wouldn't use it anyway. Online gaming (usually with people you don't even know) is a totally pointless waste of time imo. Nothing beats a good single player game.

Yes, because:
- Games are fokin expensive
- Live is a pay-to-play feature (as someone else stated: "I would like to play MP for FREE, M$")
- I remember that crackers\hackers of the first xbox managed to create something similar to Live, only for the ones that have the mod-chip.

Point is that a modded console like XBoX allows you to do much more than the original tied-down console.

When an official working modchip is released, there will probably be a major increase in 360 console sales and I think hacking the PS3 would be more difficult since its using a completely different media no one is familiar with.

Live is seriously overrated.
Most people dont care if they are part of some big community, they just want to play the game and beat others. And most people do not even care for online play. Imagen all those teens that get a console from their parents, and all those yunger kids, they dont care about some live thing. And the parents payed enough for the console and the games, they dont want to spend even more for something their kids might not even use that much.
I think you guys need to realise that the majority of people that buy consoles, are not people like us here. And even here the majority would ditch the live in favor for something else (poll), and that's really saying something about this whole live deal.

I'll keep my Live, I've got a computer that can play any media format and emulators.
I'm not willing to lose Live just to get free games.

Kommando: I don´t think games are that expensive if you consider the great amount of entertainment the 360 offers. Also, IF there was a Chip available i would almost be forced into buying it since all new games are going to get spoiled for me unless i download them. Nah, there are enough mods for Ps2 and the regular Xbox to keep me going like forever, we don´t need to desecrate the 360 also for that purpose.

the quickers it gets chipped the better for the simple reason that games are overpriced. If they was the same price as a normal dvd then maybe i might buy them. The reason i don't at the price they are is because normally the games are just rehashes or updates of previous games that i've already played and paid for. Why would i want to pay £50 or £37 for a updated roaster or some new tracks or fancy graphics just beacuse its year 2007 or something. Maybe this is why the 2nd hand market does so well, but for me i personal don't like that either as discs are scratched, ect,ect - but many people will buy 2nd hand rather than new.

Yeah, they're way too expensive for the content. £50 over here, when normally they're about £30. Unless it's some uber game I know will rock there is no way i'm spending that amount of money on something that will offer such limited entertainment.
Currently there are only two games out for the 360 I would really want to play, and thats Perfect Dark Zero, and Condemned. But they're definitely not worth it either. Maybe after the march influx of games we'll actuallly see something thats worth the price.
