Yes It's out. Feels to me that they are pushing out the games pretty fast over there. Last one was pretty good. Hope this one is better and please no force feedback bugs etc...

Quote:
Codemasters has released a single-player demo for Colin McRae Rally 2005, featuring three tracks (Germany, Sweden and the UK) drivable in three different cars (Peugeot 206, Toyota Celica GT-four, Lancia Stratos). Thanks: 3DGamers.

The demo is 284mb big. Download link on Gamershell -> http://www.gamershell.com/download_6814.shtml.

Blah, this is, just like cmr4, a cmr3 clone with new tracks and cars. The handling still feels like you're driving a hovercraft, and when the average speed of a stage is over 100mph (since you dont need to use brakes) it sucks. Hope that they will next time try to make something new, maybe a car that feels like a 300+bhp rallymonster, like in RBR?

Woohoo! More fun Colin MCrae! One of the most fun rally games along with Rallisport Challenge 2, nothing touches them, bar Sega Rally Very Happy

You can't really match them with RBR, since RBR is pretty much a all sim rally game. Not everyone wants to play a quick go on a sim.

I think it started becoming the same when 4 arrived, It did pretty much feel abit like 3 with more cars and tracks. 5 also feels the same which did get me down abit, they should wait a year inbetween before bringing this version out, so they could of worked on it more! I'll probably still buy it for my box, even though it feels the same as 4, I've enjoyed every CMR game since the first and they still have a place in my heart.

It's just down to preferece of what type of game you like I guess.

please please have realistic force feedback, tired of rushed games that overlook something so simple yet soooo necessary. we've come along way from rumble pads for heavens sake

I used to be a big fan of CMR... 2 was the best rally game ever

3 was a major improvement to fit with modern hardware but the old feeling was not there. 04 got released fixing a lot of bug that the PC version of the 3 had so I though it was pretty good.

But now the 2005, what's that... it's exactly the same thing as the 04.. only thing I saw different is the "blur" effect when you hit something.. and that's not really cool since we are used to it now.

for thoses who say they don't like the controls (fell like a hovercarft)... if you want a more realistic game go look for another one but this one is based on better gameplay instead of realism and it's pretty fun when you get the hang of it

cmr is prolly the most accurate ralley game out i have no doubts it will rise the realism again but its not really worth another buy since the other1 has barely been out a year.

Please tell me that you have never played Richard Burns Rally. It will be released for pc in the beginning of next month, get it, drive with a good force feedback -wheel and then say what is realistic. Smile

Are you sure it has starforce 3? it didn't ask for a reboot after install which is a normal sign of this protection system. There are also no starforce 3 drivers installed on my system (checked hidden devices where they normall are), so it doesn't look like it to me

if you look at the game folder, you'll see a dll called "protect.dll"
properties: starforce protection library 3.3.38.1

@cinkciarz18:
are you serious ? Laughing
I agree to say that flatout will surely be fun, but juiced...juiced...judging by the demo it can't be good.
And we're talking about rally simulations, not arcade games with nitro boost etc...
Richard burns rally will kick codemasters ass (I hope Smile )

Just had a go at it and imo seems like its GT4 gfx inspired (with the blur effects and audience movements) but controls remain (as been said above) like you're driving a hovercraft. :-/ Its a really good arcade, nothing more I guess.

Codemasters only make shit games for years... The had some good products back in the days of OPeration Flashpoint and Collin Mc rae 2, but since then they can't produce a single decent product, screw them.

Note: Toca 2 wasn't that bad, maybe there's a little hope for them...
