cd versions are real clones and you can burn them {some are} but dvds are better becoz some games have added extras , movies in High quality or multi-laguage versions

It all depends on the game, most of the time the cd and dvd version are exactly the same. With other games they added some extra's on the dvd, that's it.
Personaly i prefer dvd, mainly because having a game with 3 or more cds is just a pain in the ass

god I hate cd versions. I was at EB the other day, was going to pick out xmas present part 2 (my wife doesn't like buying games for me because she never knows which ones I want, depsite me leaving lists everywhere) and I settled on BF2. Holy shit it's still 59.99! Well, I was ready to get it anyway (despite knowing I'm gimping myself by not getting SF), but the only copies left were PCCD. FUCK THAT. I yelled at the EB guys to get their shit together and stormed out.
And EA can suck my cock if they expect me to pay $60 for a year old game.
As for cracking, DVD also, because I hate swapping images in daemon. Every game should be on dvd, even if it's only 400mb. I'm sick of this CD shit.
i can has computar?!

I find it awful how games still come on CDs. It's not like DVD's are really any more expensive, they cost pennies per disk. People who don't have DVD drives and are actually able to play modern games are seriously fucked. Every decent computer since 2000 has come with a DVD drive and if not you can buy one for $20.
Stop with the madness.

If you have to mount an image to play the game then it is obvious that CDs are better - smaller image cluttering up the hard drive - otherwise DVDs are better.

I prefer CD versions, especialy lately it's usefull because not many protected games are cracked and to have an DVD clone image on HD it can really take up space...so if u get the cd version u can anyway turn it from CD to DVD and also burn that clone image on the same DVD and run it than from the virtual drive from DVD...that means also only 1 DVD used for a game and less space used on HD if u don't burn the clone image on DVD and there is also another option that u can burn that clone on CD if u have needed hardware to do that and use it like original disc than, but u can't do that with protected DVDs...
Because of what I have writed I prefer CD versions of the games and I always try to get them also, although sometimes it's hard to get them, because not many ppl know the advantage of them!

llike you can't burn FEAR alcoholclone dvds, SW Battlefront 2, and Battlefield Special forces dvd images...
I don't have enough space on my hard drive to hold them |
dunno how you back up games but i made a fully wotking backup of fear.Plays just like my original. I think patch 1.02 blacklists rmps emulation, but im running 1.01 and have finished the single player without any problems.
as for SW battle forces 2 the same method should would as it's protected by securom and can make a working backup using rmps emulation.
BF2 SF uses safedisk not many drives can make a working back up. Sometimes for safedisk i just get any copy and find a working mini image and install the game, then play from mini image, providing there is no blacklisting issues. I play alot of my games from mini image.

Or only the FEAR CD Versions will work ONLINE MULTIPLAYER if I have a VALID CD KEY (after being patched to 1.02)?
Thanks. |
FEAR works online with generated key or even with a key fron nfo. You can't use any crack if you want to play it online thou, as cracks fucks up something and you get invalid cdky errors. Why would you want a stupid nodvd anyway, just mount clone with DT and play (use sr7.stop v1.2 if needed)

Guys, don't forget about the damn cencored *european* PoP The Two Thrones dvd. So in that case, cd version was preferable.
For everything else, dvd!
