Arena Football brings all the big hits and non-stop passing plays to life as gamers are put in the middle of the action from the season’s kickoff all the way to the ArenaBowl. Staying authentic to AFL® rules, Arena Football will feature 8-on-8 play, including six players who play both sides of the ball, and the ability to send players into and over the walls.

Jesus loves the NFL, his choice for realism and depth still being Sega's NFL 2K5 over the Madden series. However in EA's new "Arena Football" franchise he sees it as a title which could perhaps interest those that found 2K/Madden too deep and NFL Street/Blitz the League too arcadey. He also believes that due to the much smaller arenas and smaller number of players on the field in common with the NFL Street series "Arena Football" lends itself very well to multiplayer antics with the focus being very much on action. Jesus did state that one thing that he found to be unimpressive was the visuals - the models and animations are really starting to look a little dated in these EA titles something which one couldn't accuse Sega's now ageing NFL title of ever being. He would also like to add that the game will run off a multidisc.
On a serious note though, im a huge NFL fan there are ALOT of these games that I like and very few that I really hate with a passion so like all the other american sports games this title may not be for everyone.
I also just had a quick game of Curious George, looks quite purty from a distance, nice cell shaded graphics - definetly ideal for anyone that has kids.
Cheers to ProjectX! I was hoping this would pop up this afternoon. I've only played 1 game, and its mad fun so far. This should be a fun game to play with friends and some beers. Its pretty cool being able to wreck someone over the boards - almost like hockey.
Some of the rules are gonna take me a while to get used to.
I've never watched an Arena Football game so on my first game playing the opposing team punted the ball into my endzone and I just stood off and let it go obviously anticipating a touchback - the fucker just bounced off the net back into play and I nearly got caught out. That rule also applies for passing.
The defence rules are wacky as well, only certain players can blitz and they have to blitz through certain areas of the field. Linebackers have to stay in a box pre snap and only one of them can blitz, the other has to stay in the box until the ball is passed. Seems like theres alot more to it than I originally thought, yeah its arcadey but some of those rules require alot of discipline.
Worth a try definetly maybe even a rental, I wouldn't pay money for the game though - Blitz the League and NFL Street series have so much more going for them if your looking for that hard hitting arcadey football game.
Best to play it first though and form your own opinions.
