					| cheers skid, thats a handy little site. although, games are looking thin on it!
25 to life sounds good, but whether it plays that way is another matter. Torino should be ok too, i like those type of games, but they were better when konami did them

Bad day LA sounds top and Resonance as well, bout time a decent survival horror came along again after us xboxers missing out on RE4

Some of those dates and games don't look right to me and some of the games have already been released but all in all if the dates hold theres some decent stuff to look forward to.

For me in Jan favourites are:-

Torino 2006 purely because its being developed/published by the hugely talented 2K Sports. Jaws unleashed because its developed by the team that ported the classic Dreamcast version of Ecco to the PS2 (and I like the idea of removing someones leg with a shark). Lastly Painkiller, I grabbed the preview a while back, completed the pc game with addon and find its still alot of fun. Hopefully its a new version on console with some form of co-op and multiplayer whilst retaining the solid single player from the pc game.

					| Yep, that game looks stunning its my prediction for Xbox game of the year. From what I've seen of it on the Blizzard videos and teasers looks like a mix of the best parts of Splinter Cell with futuristic gadgetry. The parts where your fighting on the planet out in the open and on the Stinger jeeps looked very much like those sections in Halo where you were thrashing across the landscape in the Warthog.
Then theres the multiplayer, Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, King of the Hill, Capture the Flag and best of all "Capture the Base "

  	  | Quote: | | The goal of Capture the Base is to fly into the Terran factory and gain control of it in order to fly it back to your start point. The team that holds the base for a set amount of time wins the scenario. Of course, doing so is much easier said than done. First, you need to get into the floating factory, which you can only do by flying into it with a Grizzly fighter-bomber. Once inside, you'll need to locate the central control room and maneuver the base back to your side. But while you're doing this, the other team could be fighting a pitched battle within the factory trying to wrest control of it from you. And even if you should manage to bring it back to your base, the other team could always storm the factory and steal it back from you. |

How damn cool is that!!!, stealing a base and flying it across the map whilst its being assaulted by a team trying to do the same thing

You were saying in another thread about really being glad you woke up to the joys of console gaming the other day, for me I love both of them just see a decline in genuinely good innovative games being released on the PC. Being honest when I see all the haters slating games which they would be creaming there pants over if they were on the PC (Gaiden, Kingdom under Fire, Jade Empire, Oddworld, DOA, Fatal Frame, Forza, GT4, Monkeyball, Res Evil 4, Metal Gear 3 as examples) I feel glad that titles like this get brought out exclusively for consoles.
  *grins smugly*
And yeah as you said Blizzard have never made a bad game plus there support for their existing games is nothing short of amazing so those with Xbox live should get some goodies.

					| @Justin I was looking ahead to the rest of the year and theres stuff like:-
Bully, Far Cry Instincts 2, Sonic Riders, NBA Ballers Phenom, Outrun 2006, Just Cause, Dreamfall, Hitman, Commandos, The Da Vinci Code, Battlestations Midway, Tomb Raider, Pirates of the Caribean 2, NFL Head Coach, Call of Cthulhu: Destinys End, Flatout 2, Medal of Honor Airbourne, Mortal Kombat Armageddon, Scarface, Godfather, The Movies, Total Overdose 2, Gene Troopers, Lord of the Rings, Fear and Respect, Family Guy, Call of Cthulhu:Beyond the Mountains of Madness, NBA 2K7, Sensible Soccer, World Racing 2, Chronicles of Riddick 2.....

and theres umpteen other games that I left out because their status is either TBC/TBA 2006 or unconfirmed - although I look at some of that stuff and i know it isn't going to be classic gaming its still great and more than a surprise to me to see a steady stream of games as opposed to developers simply jumping ship for the 360. Theres also the stuff that you were probably thinking about Starcraft, Splinter Cell, Mark Echo, Black, MLB 2K6, Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six, Fifa Street 2 (and maybe the other street games), Full Spectrum Warrior Ten Hammers, Fight Night Round 3 and Toca 3.

 That isn't half bad.

i agree, that is actually pretty sweet. i might just be cheap and wait for ps3 to come out (to compare) before i buy new gen console.

new splinter cell (!), starcraft, black, chronicles of riddick 2 (!!!), bully, outrun 2006, sensible soccer (??) are among those that might be really sweet. heh two call of cthulhu games also.

					| I just tryed MVP 06 NCAA Baseball around an hour ago - All I can say is save the bandwidth or your money and get MLB 2K5 World series edition or hold out for the 2K6 version next month.
Obviously anywhere out of the US, college sports are a real niche. I've watched College baseball/basketball and football on some of the american pay per view channels and the quality of play, atmosphere and sheer amount of people that fanatically turn up to watch them surpasses the majority of professional sports here in the UK so not playing as David Ortiz or Randy Johnson wasn't a major issue for me.

As with the previous EA MLB title my main gripe is the game itself in comparison to Sega's now exclusively licensed MLB title. Put this infront of someone whos only means of gaming is a PC and yes they'd be happy enough being that its their only choice. However put it infront of someone that has the choice between 2K5 or this and the game fades into obscurity becoming merely an average title.

In every department its been significantly bettered - that includes TV style presentation including camera angles, pre match build up and analysis, post match analysis, commentary, graphics, sound, stadium atmosphere, controls, depth and customization of gameplay, unlockables, the skybox, choice of gamemodes, online play and longevity.

As I said it isn't terrible but in common with Madden and Fifa it has alot of catching up to do if it wants to be the purists choice within its specific sports genre. I saw some sites in their reviews were jubilant over the fact that it has an online link to ESPN that streams baseball news down your line whilst you play the game all I can say to that is yeah great, but the core game I would imagine is more important to 99% of gamers than what amounts to an in game RSS feed. Similiarly the same sites were calling the new control system revolutionary, a system which now has you swinging and fielding using the analogue stick instead of timed button pressing. In theory it sounds and looks really interesting, I watched the EA videos before I started a few games just to see what this new "Lock and Load" swinging method involved. Having now tryed it both in game and in the Batting mini game all I can say is that the videos make it sound alot more interesting than it actually is, I wouldn't be surprised if some future baseball games take up this new method but its far from "revolutionary".

I also noticed IGN has a really interesting article on EA Vs 2K sports games, in their poll after over 200,000 votes 2K won with almost two thirds of the vote. Some of the members opinions are brilliantly written too, makes a change from the usual fanboy shit that such threads encourage.
