Hello people. I think this is my first post so don't blame me! Well, I've got a lot of files that I'd like to rename and, after testing a huge number of utilities I haven't found any similar to mp3tag. I mean, all those app just let me rename files like:
<original file name> + <auto growing number> or things like that.
If any of you have ever used mp3tag, it comes with a real rename util. It lets you decide what to rename and how. For example if you've got a song like:
Punk-SKA Covers - MXPX - Barbie Girl (AQUA).mp3
you could parse it like:
%genre%-%album% - %artist% - %title%
and the damn program does it! Well, it writes the id3 tags and then you can rename it as you like (using the same schema). So what i want is that, something that lets me parse each file and then rename it how I liked.
Hope it really exists or I'll have to rename them by hand

it has a masstagger and renamer with a syntax (tagz language) like mp3tag
let's you write tags from the filename
and write the filename from the mp3tags
for example i download an album to my tempfolder,
and then let foobar move all files to
muscidir/%artist% - %album%/%discnumber%%tracknumber% - %artist% - %title%.mp3
you can save and load the scripts too, so you can decide which to use
(e.g. another script for a various artist album)
Signature/Avatar nuking: none (can be changed in your profile)
