...save disabled but after applying the fix, and doing the worlds most amatuer slasher type rip job, i managed to get it on to my 1gb stick, and can now enter the game, get passed the menu, enter the level and start walking around - did the game ever get this far before? i dont know because i hadn't tried it till now. if it never loaded before, then w00t.

excellent news. just a few minutes and the rip kit will be released.
you couldn't get that far before. it checked the memory stick before loading, and wouls just hang.

partial ripkit is out - he released a plugin for reb tool, so you could get inside the big rcf files... the 'first' bat/ripkit he released doesn't trim enough fat to fit on a 1gb unfortunately, ive just finished playing around with it. i DID find out that the game doesn't need the movie rcf contents, so it can be safely dummyed. but it DOES need the english one (the game is stuck on the checking memeory stick screen right at this moment) - im far too tired to redo the iso right now... ill try in the morning.. proper rip kits will probably be avaliable by then anyway.

i did play the iso further earlier today though (my earlier butchered rip) and i managed to play a complete racing circuit, no problems. so yeah, apart from the save issue, seems to be properly cracked.

edit: final ripkit out in a few mins.

excellent! it works pretty well, and the game isnt all that bad, hopefully some kind of save fix will be developed!

Whats the technical reason why the game hung on the memory card check before? I take it the simple fix was just to stop the game seeing the memory card right?
