What video software would you guys recommend (or even know of) that is able to remove a green background and then apply the extracted video layer over another piece of video?
Do you need like $3456836453 software to achieve this or is there personal type software out there capable of this?
I promise I'll show you my hilarious thing when I'm done if I can find the right software.

I think Pinnacle studio are able to do that, at least one version of it. I've never done it my self so I don't know which version.

Most editing software can key on a certain color and remove it.
Sony Vegas should do it, Adobe should do it, etc.

adobe aftereffects can do that easily. just use the colorkey filter.

Thanks guys, will check 'em out... it's not only removing the color over the whole clip.. these apps will let me apply the layer with the removed colors over another layer correct?

adobe after effects and sony video vegas are probably the easiest applications for the task
but AE does produce more professional quality, and is tons more versatile than vegas
not to mention to direct interconnecting with premiere and other adobe family products with the new release pack (not yet scene released, apart from adobe audition seperately)
the 6.5 production bungle release of AE comes with a third party color keying(== the process of removing the green wall) plugin on the CD called "Keylight", that you have to install seperately
it is way superior to anything i've used before
if you want true professional quality stuff, get autodesk combustion or digital fusion
but they are very complex and have a steep learning courve, so i would just go with AE or vegas
