It's not 3d like u can move the camera around. The objects will be 3d, the camera will be fixed in a isometric position, and i think it's a good decision, u won't get confused about where's where. And i think a remake is a good thing, rather than the experience Ufo AM and AS has delivered to the fans of the series.
The main difference between UFO Enemy Unknown and UFO:ET is that u can control 2 planets in this one...need to say more?

Yeah I also thought UFO aftershock was a decent game, but it is always good to hear of more UFO genre games =)

- Stability a real problem until you apply the patch
- The game seems to go on forever
- Interface could have been streamlined |
...and to those mentioned, UFO AS has like a dozen maps for a game that you supposed to be playing like 50 hours to finnish. There are only like 5-6 races in all the game, the modability is really awful(worse than UFO AM actualy), the enemy is brain dead (and that's not an alien race name), after 2 patches and 3 months since release, the major problems are not resolved still(i guess because of the hard coding of the game), the balance of the weapons is awful(one mod tries to ballance the game out, but it uses the same 10 weapon models for like 70 weapons). Need i go on? There are more issues, but i can't remember.
Oh, and as a side note, UFO AS and UFO: ET are developed in the same country(the developers are both czech) and share the same publisher...but that is the only resemblence between the two.

I spoke of the graphics, not the gameplay.
The game was indeed great. Even today it still is better than any of the other UFO games and that's despite the fact that it looks like the aforementioned pile of shit.

Well most games from back then indeed do look like shite. But cast your mind back to a game like say Elite. The best space game by far, although the graphics now are laughable.

The game is being corrected of typos as we speak. The errors in spelling are because the team is czech, and they didn't hire a translator until now. But i'd rather much prefer a typo than a CTD/BSD or a missing feature...

X com was one of my favorite games of all time.
But did you guys look at the gamespot screens?
This game looks like utter shit, graphically. Give me the original 640x480 over these crap 3d renders.

who cares?
it's about the game not the graphics.
as long as the game is original ufo gameplay i don't really care about the graphics....
