Stargate MMORPG Announced
Kick some Goa'uld butt with your friends.
by Wade Steel

January 31, 2006 - Stargate fans who were feeling down after last week's announcement of the cancellation of Stargate SG-1: The Alliance can cheer up with today's announcement by MGM Interactive and Cheyenne Mountain that the sci-fi franchise will grace their computer screens in the form of Stargate Worlds, an MMORPG based on the Stargate SG-1 television series.

The two companies entered into an agreement to develop the game in September 2005 with Cheyenne "[quickly building] a very talented development team and [creating] some impressive initial art and technology assets."

According to Joe Ybarra, Vice President of Product Development for Cheyenne, the highly competitive nature of today's MMO market requires that a product distinguish itself through "a superior game concept implemented by a superior development team" and that the partnership with MGM will allow them to achieve this distinction.

Travis Rutherford, Executive Vice President of MGM Interactive, stated that MGM chose to trust the Stargate franchise to Cheyenne because MGM was "confident in [Cheyenne's] ability to create a triple-A Stargate MMO."

While few details of the game have yet been revealed, the companies state that the game will provide players with "a form of exploration, adventure and ranged combat set in worlds of historical human time periods, alien environments, and outer space locations." Gamers will assume the roles of soldiers and scientists where they can engage in trading, establishing alliances, and of course engage in combat with the Goa'uld and the Ori.

The companies have yet to announce a release date for Stargate Worlds, but you can be sure we will provide any new information to you once it becomes avalible.

I want to play and enjoy the story and interesting characters not just pure leveling up 1 level per day to be able to start another stupid quest and paying money for it every month.
Besides, this boring crap takes too much time. I have many other better games to play and many things to do Wink

You can also exercise without paying for gym. There's a thousand way to get muscular without sophisticated machines. Push up, tractions, crunchs. Maybe buy a few weights for some specific parts, but that's not that essential.
All it takes, really, is time and motivation. After that, any kind of training executed 4/5 hours a week is bound to get pretty much the same results.

That way you can get muscular and keep your money to pay for your mmorpg fees.

I can't wait to farm static and repoping jaffas and loot mp5 ammo on their body and ... ho wait, no. That sucks. They can't make a TRADITIONAL mmorpg out of stargate. They'd better have some fresh ideas.

I played Wow for 4 months. Doesn't cost that much when you think about it (40 euros or so). Considering the time I spent on the game enjoying the exploration part, I don't regret.

They I got bored, resilied. Didn't found another that hooked me up so far.

Playing MMO games doesn't mean you have to be addicted to them.
