you do realise that you're still stuck with shepherd? And he o so conveniently waiting until AFTER the transfer window is closed.. and I still don't think you have much hope with roder there. Hopefully you sign sam allardyce so he can't become England manager!

I don't think to highly of Roeder either, but he is still 1000x better than souness. Hopefully we will get Ottmar Hitzfield or Guus van Hiddink. though Sam is the most probable candidate

you will deffo not get hiddink whilst he's in contention for the england job. roeder was gash at west ham and will probably keep newcastle up (you do have some quality) but I dont think you'll advance higher than 10th before the end.

I hope portsmouth get relgated. Sunderland are the inevitable and I wouldn't care who the third are. I do think it would be bad if newscastle did get relegated because you have too much class there. Also it'd be bad for the north east with only boro in the prem.
I can see the crowd shrinking (i dont think you have enough 'hardcore' fans to support them in the championship like city) and all your stars leaving. I can't see owen staying beyond this world cup anyway. With benitez re-signing fowler there's always the possibility of getting owen again.

we aren't going to get relegated, we got rid of souness, remember?
even though facing a terrible portsmouth, most of us can see a turning point after todays game. the atmosphere on the ground was amazing and we actually played football for the first time this year. plus dyer made a comeback, without injuring himself, which was ever so important.
we will start climbing the table again and St James's will once again be a feared fortress!

in all honesty I think that even with souness managing this game newscastle woulda won. You had parker and emre fully fit as well as n'zogbia. Dyer coming on was just a bonus but souness prolly coulda won the game because pompey are shit.

Yea but pompey played 5 in mid field. Emre and parker dominated the midfield alone allowing n'zogbia to push forward a bit more and solano to go wider. THat caused pedro mendes to drop back even further which obviously didnt quite work out. Portsmouth barely challenged bramble and boumsong nevermind given.

well, if they played 5 in midfield, wouldn't that make Parker and Emres job harder? so their display would be even more impressing

Yes but when you consider the skill level of emre and parker over anyone from portsmouth you know that it's going to be pretty in effective. You play 5 in midfield when you can actually attack. Portsmouth are shite

Parker isn't AMAZING at what he does, but he's good at it. He's no Pirlo though.

parker really is amazing in what he does. sven would be out of his mind not to have him the squad for world cup. ofcourse, he shouldn't be in the starting 11, lampard and gerrard are the best, but after them, i think parker is englands 3rd best central midfielder

sure, we might had won with graeme in charge, but we wouldn't have played the football we did. with graeme, we would have seen long balls from bramble and boumsong instead of good passing.
Also, the crowd wouldn't have been behind the team they were yesterday. from what ive heard, it was almost like it was back in the keegan days |
its funny tho man, from my perspective. I played soccer in elementary school, like on the school team and shit, I know how to play and all the rules and stuff. But in some of these football threads, Im totally fuckin lost. u guys start using ur euro(or brit) slang and thats it for me.

Let me break iot down for you
sure, we might had won with graeme [graeme = graeme souness former manager] in charge, but we wouldn't have played the football we did. with graeme, we would have seen long balls from bramble and boumsong [Bamble and boumsong = the 2 most useless central defenders in the world] instead of good passing.
Also, the crowd wouldn't have been behind the team they were yesterday. from what ive heard, it was almost like it was back in the keegan [Keegan = A former manager who is a bit of a legend] days
that's all there is to it. I don't see how you can get confused with that :/
Disgusting for the villa fans to boo solano after all he did for them last year
