|
 |
Deep Shadows announces a sequel to Boiling Point: Road to Hell, the action RPG at one time known as Xenus. Word is: "In order to re-create the same atmosphere and vibrancy of Latin America the lead map designer Hob and scenarist Che Guevara took a trip to Cuba. They returned with thousands of high-res photos which will serve as the foundation for the art design of our new game, helping us to make it as real as possible." There's no word on how the reunion between Guevara and Fidel Castro went. Thanks Shacknews and Worthplaying.

Well hopefully they will not rush this.

You can't patch up a faulty engine. It needs replacing.

Do you know what a patch is? |
Yeah. It was like 2gb of patches.. Even then the game was shit.
Funniest bug was when I first started the game, and everyone started to shot at me, women, children, animals? yeah...like everybody! After like 2 seconds....I was like...WTF??? Is it supposed to be like this?? haha.. just happend once though. Dono why... but that wasnt the reason I think its shit...nah..
thats just the rest of the game. Like everything, gfx, sound, controls...one buggy hell.
Now we know how hell is for gamers.. Its a place full of bugs and malfunctions..
But well, I dident pay for it so im chill.. If I had bought that shit, then I would fucking cry...(almost) But then again, I dont buy shitty games.
Sig too big.

the game is good.. IF you have a good rig and have all the patches....
Given a few more months of dev the game could have been great.

I didn´t had the patience to play it a lot, but even though it was filled with bugs, Gamespot score was 7.0 (Good). So I think that game as something good in it if you have the patience to explore it, but it was fucked by bad programming. They even say "Boiling Point works off the Grand Theft Auto template to fashion an open-ended hybrid shooter with more diverse missions than the genre has seen in years.".

The game now has 2 patches and the performabce has improved. This game has an excellent storyline, the atmosphere is quite realistic and is quite original with its RPG/FPS design. I'm really looking forwatd to BP2 and I'm sure they'll sort out the bugs this time. Had the original been less buggy it could have been a contender for GOTY.

I love Boiling Point, as soon as Patch 2.0 came out (which took a while..) it was absolutely playable if you had a good rig. I played this game for around 70hrs, the gameplay was very calm and kinda slow but I got really sucked into the huge World. If it came out in Version 2.0 I bet it would've gotten many ratings in the 80s

The Idea of Boiling Point is good..
Imagine a Boiling Point game with a litte bit better graphics and the game running as smooth as it could get..
And no bugs..
Then it would be a good game..
Give them time on this one and it will be good..
I hate you.

I really liked BP, very few games these days "sucks me in" like BP did. It had a great Morrowind/DeusEx feel to it that i really liked. I got a really bad graphical error when flying, but other than that i cant remember any obvious bugs. Performance was really ok for such a _massive_ world without any loading, 25-35FPS.
I believe many reviewers and gamers had very predjucide opinions about this game and never really gave it a chance, and ofc, many people seemed to have performance issues and didnt bother tweaking it (which in my case was setting everything to the highest possible settings). It's not totaly up there with GTA, Morrowind and Deus Ex perhaps, but how many games are? Almost as good as Deus Ex or MW is still _extremely_ good since few/no other games are even close.

Actually I was scared to play this game, I thought the more you go further on missions the more buggier it gets. Installed, patched, mounted miniimage, uninstalled. The game is good to show people as a bug bomb
