EA Sports Rugby 2006

  • Official web page: LINK
  • Publisher:
  • Genre: Sports (Rugby)
  • Release date: Few days away
  • [b]Story/Description
    Quote:

TASTE THE TENSION AND TAKE the big hits as EA SPORTS Rugby 06 slams you back into the scrum for the most realistic and intense rugby experience yet. Keep the match flowing with new off-load passing and quick set plays and get as close as you can get to the mud, sweat and tears of the real thing with faster, more realistic and responsive gameplay. Drive your team to victory with effective use of your impact players whose innovation, inspiration and discipline can mean the difference between a humiliating defeat and a spectacular win. When the pressure is really on and the game is on the line, resort to tough tactics to neutralise your opposition’s impact players. Used at the right time, laying a high hit on an opponent can turn the game in your favour. But remember, it’s just as likely to hand the advantage to your rivals – and land your player in the dreaded sin bin. With authentic teams and players, more expansive gameplay and all-new hard-hitting action, EA SPORTS Rugby 06 lays bare the heart and soul of the greatest game on earth.

  • Multiplayer: YES

AI was the biggest problem in the last one. It was formulaic and the players moved like migrating birds in perfect synch.

Yes the memories Laughing Bill Mclaren commentating 'He puts up the hoist' and 'Those forwards are charging like a bunch of sherman tanks' Easily the best Rugby game ever made, and hopefully this new EA Rugby 2006 will improve a lot on last years offering. The fact that it has Multiplayer is a big draw for me, the 1st for a Rugby game I think.

Wooohoo, another useless annual Sports-sequel with little to no improvements from EA.

Upcoming PC games 2009 and onwards
Bravery is not a function of firepower.

Rugby Union IS NOT american football . . . the game is free flowing, even in a penalty situation the ref will generally give an advantage against the infringing team (they cant touch the ball) before blowing the whistle to stop the flow of play.

Check out this try scored from a restart . . .

You don't half talk some bollocks m8, Rugby Union is nothing like American Football, although Rugby League has it's similarities. Perhaps you should watch the game first then make a judgement.

From that review

"EA cleaned up the "flock-of-birds" issue from 2005, in which players ran exactly in unison. "
