Damn man. There's nothing like starting real life off in the hole. So far I've been lucky enough to go through 3 years of college without taking out a loan. Good luck paying that off in the next couple of years.

damn dude....
time to start hustlin, hit the block nigga
Seriously tho, see if its cheaper to get a line of credit, pay off the student loan with the line of credit, then pay off the line of credit - only if the interest rate on the line of credit is lower than that of the student loan. you wont save thousands and thousands, but u will save a decent enough amount of money...if u can find a credit line with a good interest rate.

I went to this private, smaller college in Boston, MA. Probably not the best idea ever... haha. Yah those are some scary numbers...
Workin' on "consolidating" them now, hopefully that will make it less painful.
How much for University of Phoenix max?

I spend about $3,000 per semester on tuition but it's a relatively large state school in Illinois.

I'm currently standing at £7,000ish and it will be up to £16,000 by the time I graduate. Plus overdrafts and credit cards makes it about 20 grand.

The worst decision I ever made in my life was to go back to college. I didn't learn anything useful and I am debt ridden.
The North American school system blows.

djeez, i have to pay 500€ / year. and 220€/month for my housing. But thats all.
I subscribed to go study in USA next year as an exchange program, and i get a scholarship of 3000-5000$. So why can i, as a foreigner, get a scholarship, and local people not?
btw, are you doing nuclear tests every day? 70000$? i cannot imagine anything that costs that much.
oh yeah, then i read everywhere that usa education is bad, people are not smart enough, industry is asking for educated people to come to work for them.Fewer and fewer are attending college/university. People are not interested in science anymore.
Why would anyone go study if you have a debt of 80.000$ if you come out? There is no benefit then. You earn a bit more with your degree, but you have to pay off debts for 20 years. You could buy a house with that 80.000

4 years - 43K
Balance owing = 0
You will feel rich after your done paying. I put down like 2Gs a month. What would really such is if you didnt get a good job after you finished. But if you start anywhere from 40-60K a year, you should have no problem paying them off. Heck you might even get a signing bonus.

How can you go to uni for 3 years and then decide to drop out? If you're going to drop out do it in the first year.

i can borrow up to £1500 every 1/3 of a year ... no interest. As i've only started uni its not exactly killing me yet, plus hopefully with the jobs which will open up to me after graduating i can pay them off within a year or two.
Stooz in general though the investment is well worth it as the difference in salary between grads and highschool students is quite huge. I have a friend in the states who is doing a physics degree and he's worked up bills of over $150,000 now thats a real bitch, i cant really see how that can be paid off before your 45.

Not over here, it would be really hard to pay off a bill of 85.000 euro. The salary of uni graduates has decreased over the years just like anyone elses. You have to be really lucky to get a well paid position here, the unemployment is rising amongst graduates. Of course that might be different in the US or UK.
