Well I cant recommend 1 but for $130 you really can take your pick because they're certainly not that much even for a good 1

Yeah, you're looking at $60 max.
Don't get Pioneer though.

yea well no dvd burner lasts years so just think of it as a 2 year investmenr. My lite-on didnt last long maybe a year at most. I did use it quite a bit but it still shouldnt break that quickly.

I have an LG GSA-4163B an it works like a charm.I've also heard that this is a very popular choice for a lot of people.
I think that in the end it also comes down to luck.I've had my dvd-rw for a short period of times but I've lost count how many dvds I burned till now.I've also heard plextor has some good dvd burners. For such a budget you have a wide array of choices.

guys, what DVD burners you've got?
I'd like to buy one, but I've heard that some companies (Teac etc) which produced excellent CDRWs, aren't so good nowadays...

My vote goes to NEC ND-3550 its yours for about €45 and it works excellent and its easy to upgrade the firmware!

Got the lite-on 1633s for 1½ years and still working like a charm. Paid 40$ on ebay, factory sealed.

DO NOT BUY LITEON OR SONY!!! There are some good models but ALOT of really bad ones that are shit burners with -R DVDr discs! Liteon used to be the name in CD burning but when it comes to DVDr they simply suck.
Nec continues to produce killer drives. Not only compatible with tons of media but they are real workhorses. I still have my 1300a after 3+ years. My brother went through 3 Liteon/Sony drives in less then a year and it was a bitch to find media these drives would burn properly.
Benq also makes a great drive, 1640 which are hard to find but suppose to be really solid.
What ever you pick do some research, start here:

I would recommend a NEC drive too. My old NEC2510A is still up and running just fine and my newer 3540A is even sweeter...
Behold his GLORY! Bow for the technical master!

It's settled, enjoy your new NEC Psycrow395!
On a side note, I have thrown some REALLY crappy media into that NEC and it still kicks out great disc's. I just watched several I burnt years ago and not so much as a one glitch!
Hell, my little NEC has outlasted 3 motherboards!

It has a 2 year warranty so yes they would, only prob is that i flashed the firmware to se if i could make it work. Warranty void:-)

Reset it back to stock, they won't know or probably care.
