Well, at work they trow\give away old computers. So i checked around, there was like 30-40pc's and i found some sound card - creative, and a keyboard, an 17" CRT screen, mouse and the best PC i found, lol, an 600mhz with 128 ram, and i took it with me,

anyway, iv installed 2003 server on it. And i got an 20gb after they erased it with some Uberprogram. ( because of important data i aint supose to find ) Is it worth having a bigger disk to this crap machine?
So the question, what can i use it for, any good ideas? Smile

or/and as router?!

fli4l is a linux based router software that has a lot of possibilities and don`t need much resources.
you can do all of the things I mentioned above and much more....

hmmm...

don`t know if there is any english description...
anyway - check it out @ www.fli4l.de

Gah, microsoft fanboy or not, installing 2003 on a 600mhz machine is just stupid as it will use up most of the bloody resources just running the OS. You should be installing a COMMANDLINE linux install (something like debian).. stick Webmin on it and use it as a server.. I have a dual xeon box sitting in my living room dishing out MP3's around the house, running our home BF2 server and giving VPN access to the local uni students who are firewalled in. I could do all that on your 600 machine with no issues at all.. If I had 2003 on it I would be able to run winamp and store files.. although winamp would no doubt lag Wink

Hey, im just using it as a testmachine. And using 2k3 could be smart. Because we may get exam in "setting up and Win 2k3 server" at school. So i wanna be sure of what im doing. Linux is not curriculum. But and to much to get into...

But thanks for the tips, gonna try to run debian or whatever later Wink
