In the movies it's not uncommon for a sequel to suck. In the gaming industry sequels are almost always better. In fact, I can't remember any sequel that was a disapointment before Lockdown.
|
-Deus Ex 2
-DRIV3R
-Suffering: Ties that bind
The only ones i can remeber...but its true that most sequesl are pretty good

- Swat 4 sucked (compared to Swat 3)
- Tribes Vengeance
- Vietcong 2
- No One Lives Forever 2
- Interstate 80
- Lockdown (according to a lot of fans)
- Raven Shield (according to a lot of fans)
- Any Star Wars game
- Any Star Trek game

I loved SWAT 4, bringed me the gameplay of the old R6 and the coop online was just fuckin awesome. As for the Star Wars games, SW: Battlefront 2, Jedi Academy and Republic Commando were great games.
Back on topic, they should rename the game for Rainbow Sux: Letdown. I miss the good old days with Rogue Spear but if you think this piece of junk is shit...wait till you see what they have in mind for Rainbow Six 5...this one will kill the serie

I can't agree with any of these.
Swat 4 is better than swat 3. Ok the movement is annoying and it's a bit easy, but it's still better than the third whichever way you look at it.
Tribes vengeance wasn't bad. I never personally liked the first 2 though. Far too many buttons really.
Vietcong 2.... the first 1 was unplayable. The 2nd 1 just sucked: you be the judge.
Ok NOLF2 got pretty poor reviews but the game was actually better than the first. Maybe not in relation to the current contender at the time but game to game it IS an improvement. Contract jack wasn't great but nolf2 was still a good game.
I've never played interstate 80

Raven shield..... a downfall from what? You cant compare it to *all* tom clancy games.
Any star wars game? I think that there have been some great star wars games and they haven't been progressively getting worse either. (even though i didnt like it) Knights of the old republic 1 + 2, Jedi knight + Jedi outcast + academy, rogue squadron 1 + 2, LEGO star wars. You get the idea..... *sigh*
I thought elite force 2 was much better than the first one.
Deus ex 2 is a worthy mention, as are monkey island 4 and driv3r. ties that bind wasn't that bad though

What happend to Rainbow Six? Ever sinse Counter-Strike came out it seems the developers of Rainbow Six have veared WAY off of the original (GREAT) design of the game Rainbow Six.
It was an extremely realistic and very fun simulator, now we have....this crap...wow. In my opinion, Black Thorne was the last Rainbow Six released worth a damn.

I read you do not have to unplug any drives with this release, if you copy lockdown.exe from the demo. I'm going to try it as soon as I get home from school.

Why is this game called Rainbow Six?
1) They removed realism
2) Map sizes are smaller
3) They removed planning phase
4) You can only have one team now
Devolution anybody?
