So i've just spent 30 mins with it - on Hard - can't get past the first part of the first level.
This game is AMAZING. It looks like nothing i've seen before - truely outstanding - it looks next gen. The audio in INCREDIBLE too - shit man, i've not got a fancy speaker setup and this still sounds out of this world.
So far the AI seems to holding itself together, and the whole game feels polished, and so well done. Like the begining movie - it doesn't give away much and you sort of play through the story as it were...
So far I have to say this could possibly be one of the best games i've ever played, any not just because of the amazing graphics (some of the effects are just insane!)

May I just add this, there is not a chance in hell i'm cancelling my pre-order. Hopefully they'll add some AA to the xbox360 emulated version and this game will be PLAYED TO DEATH. Just a shame about the lack of multiplayer.

you guys playing with your xbox set to ntsc ?? I am running a pal xbox and no luck getting it to work yet. On my third dvd. Just says disc not reconized. Bah !!!

nahh running it from dvd. Using hi-def pack. Very very strange. Will reset xbox back to pal and put scart lead back in.

console set to pal. Scart put back in. Same thing every time disc unknown. Ran a copy of with three dif burn software. Just cant tell what the disc is. Will not even let me copy it to the hard drive,

Have you checked your other discs? your xbox drive might have kaput...I know it's obvious but just in-case you have not checked
I looked up "gormless" in the dictionary, it said "without gorm" .... so i looked up "gorm" but it wasn't there ????

Sure did mate. Other games are working fine. Got my version from easynews. might be my media...using tuff discs dvd+r.

wow this game is something else. The AI suprised me i thought it was pretty crappy in the demo but its alot sharper in the final game they flank you and shoot away your cover and what about those explosions eh. The way they light the level and use the bloom effect as a sort of pseudo HDR makes this game really good i love when you look down your sights and the light halos around your eneimies.
The game id say is like the PC cod in a way but with tons more destruction. The 5.1 sound as mentioned earlier is great its good when you hear the whoosh of an rpg coming at out from out of your line of sight and you panic and run for cover. The hype has been about the destruction. Alot of the environment is destructible not everything, but almost everything there are some noticable things like tires that dont move after u blow up a vehicle. One of my fave moments so far was blowing up the fuel tanks at the side of a building and watching the wall bopww away and the roof go flying thru the air. The first time you load the game be prepared for a wait as it loads alot of things onto the HD cache. But after that the levels are huge in a Far cry sorta scale so once a level loadsa thats it the rest i assume is streaming.
My verdict 10/10 because on an xbox it doesnt get better than this, the frame rate is solid great gfx intense firefights. Glad i pre ordered this, and the early scene rls just means i get to enjoy it sooner. WTG criterion. who gives a fuck about online when u have a single player campaign as fun as this is

I havent had the need to post on this board in the past 2-3 months, but this game changed that. Just telling from the first mission, it's awesome. Killer gfx. The most realistic gunfire I've probably ever heard in a game. AI that, while plentiful, actually looks for cover and doesnt charge right at you. And what I like most of all, FULL CUSTOMIZABLE CONTROLS. No Set A, Set B, Set C blah blah blah. You can change individual buttons. Why can't ALL console developers do this?

One thing I dont like is your teammates seem to be useless at times and invincible all the time.

yea the AI is tops i love how they use supressing fire to supress you then the armor plated shotgun guys run in the buildings from the sides and try to gun you down at close range

Pros and Cons so far
Pros
- Great graphic for the Xbox
- Kick ass sound when you are on a 5.1
- Non stop action
- Exellent AI
- Great replay value when youre done
Cons
- Pain in the ass secondary objectif, always end up running to found them
- No map/compass (for objectif or where you need to go)
- Takes too many AK-47 bullet to kill even point blank (exept headshot)
- No Save/quick save and i think that if you die and stop playing, you cant save the checkpoint either
Overall this is a great game and its pretty addictive
Oh..the game works fine on a NTSC Xbox

WOW. I must get this. After the OXM demo I was somewhat dissapointed. Yea I knew it was an old build but these 2 impressions will seal the deal for a day one purchase. Thanks for taking the time to write those up fellas.

So why are you all excited? gotta admit the screens look pretty good.. is there some new innovation in the game that sets it apart from the other countless clones out there?

Well, it´s hard to describe, it´s just so damn good. It´s realistic as hell but yet unrealistic in another kind of way that makes it enjoyable to play. The gameplay is amazing and it looks even better than the games on the Xbox360.
