Alright, Im confused.. My PC was fine untill i switched it on just now. Everything is gone! , My firefox setting's have disappeared, Bookmarks gone. My taskbar has disappeared , but managed to get it back using run>explorer. All my settings for my applications... GONE! My desktop has resetted back to the way it was when i first got the PC.. my shortcuts.. most have been deleted.. all my data is still safe. When i click my name in window's login all i get is error's about my profile being curropt and it needs to use a temp profile or something.. My guess is its using a temp profile because my other one is not working. So how do i get my old profile back on windows?

I hate windows... , I'm so wanting to format this thing and dual booting windows/linux on it. But i can't be bothered backing up my data. So i can't lol I'm going to try a system restore. Last edited by DeMoN064 on Wed, 15th Feb 2006 20:54; edited 1 time in total

maybe if you login as admin, you can recover stuff and then format.

I'm already logged in as admin. Most of my desktop is working apart from my personal settings have been deleted like MSN , Passwords , Bookmarks (I need to find, I can't do without my bookmarks! lol) etc.. Rolling Eyes

Omg, What is the point in system restore... It asks to select a restore point.. Hmm oh great the only restore point is the one made about 1 min ago OMFG.. It sounds like you switched user's. Try checking in C:\Documents and Settings and see if you see any other folders there. math
