Get some calcium tablets, or drink lots of milk.

I used to get heart burn ALL of the time. I don't recall when exactly it stopped but it was about 2 years ago when I stopped drinking soda. I dont know if thats what was causing it but when I did have it antacid tablets would do the trick for me.

not that i know of nah, been to a few docs in the past months about this, and they didnt find anything. i dont have heartburn all the time, its usually every couple of weeks for a few days. so what i think is, either it is the coffee, or something i always eat. cant think of anything special though

usually it is caused by eating too much stuff that makes your acid-levels rise in your stomach. Like cake and other bakery products, dairy products, meat, stuff with loads of sugar in it. I guess wikipedia would have an article on it. I used to have it too, and coffee only slightly made it higher. Eating less of the shitty food made a much bigger difference. Stress and Coffee together can be a killer still, so you also might go the anti-stress relaxation route, if thats causing it for you...

Sounds mad (acid+acid).. but try 2 tablespoons of vinega, it will hurt so have glass of water handy. After 5 mins your acid stomach will be gone.
I looked up "gormless" in the dictionary, it said "without gorm" .... so i looked up "gorm" but it wasn't there ????

diet? lol
no seriously, everything is fine, got an oppionion from 5 different docs and they all said its nothing chronic or more serous like an ulcer. calcium tablets do work, but only temporarily.
only thing the docs had in common was, cut down on the coffee and eat better. but fuck...no coffee? id be on a killing spree after a week without no coffee. eat better? sure i tried that but, jesus christ, you need so much healthy food to be satisfied and stuffed. i need my meat, meatmeatmeatmeatmeatmeat!!!!
i always thought i eat pretty good. 90% of the food i eat during the week is home cooked. i rarely go to burger king or any other fast food chain. quizno's every now and then but thats about it. come to think of it...i always use alot of gravy...my food almost has to swim in gravy otherwise i wont touch it...could gravy cause this shit?

Men are such wimps. Try heartburn when you're pregnant.
Actually try being pregnant.
No even better, try giving birth.
Men can't take pain.

dysmotility
motillium's really good for random nausea |
Quote: | The main causes
Generally, the key reason you will suffer from dysmotility is because of what you eat or the way you eat. Nowadays, our lifestyles mean we don’t always have time for properly balanced meals at set times of the day - in fact only 36%* of us eat three regular meals a day. Confused eating habits can mean your stomach isn’t able to keep up and, as a result, it has difficulty digesting food.
Key triggers for many sufferers are:
* Fatty and heavy or rich foods. These are more difficult for your stomach to process, slowing its normal digestive rhythm down
* Drinking too much alcohol, as this can slow down the stomach’s processing powers.
* Eating late at night. Your stomach will have to digest your food while you are in bed, leaving you feeling as though your meal is just ‘sitting there’
* Eating 'on the run'. Grabbing a sandwich, rushing your food may mean your stomach finds it hard to digest your food properly
How to avoid
Luckily there are a number of simple things you can do to try and avoid dysmotility symptoms. So don’t feel you're stuck with it for good:
* slow down, take a break and relax a bit. And, above all, don’t eat on the run.
* make sure you don’t gobble your meal and always chew your food well before you swallow. Once you’ve eaten, give yourself time to digest your food properly before going on to do something else. In other words, allow your stomach’s natural digestive rhythm to keep up with you. Often it’s not what you eat but how you eat.
* try eating smaller, lighter meals rather than making one big one last all day
* don’t eat just before you go to bed
* try to avoid fatty, rich foods
* cut down on the amount of alcohol you drink |
yeah, that pretty much all sounds like me ... except the fatty foods part (at least I try to cut back). bad eating schedule ... skip breakfast a lot .. sometimes even lunch ... often eat late at night... often eat one big meal as opposed to several small meals .. alcohol x2 .... gobbling down food. man. my stomach must hate me
although sometimes I get nauseous with an empty stomach when trying to eat, particularly in the morning.
