I think we they talk about second generation mmo, its about the gameplay and how to lvl etc. making it more for casuel player where you can play with your friends for an hour or two, but also with some content for the more hardcore players.
atleast thats what i think

well, there has practically been zero evolution since the initial invention
or will you disagree?
eve online looks a bit different, but i haven't played it enough to say, but all other "mmorpgs" are the exact same tired thing over and over

sencond generation lol looks like ass ,go look at vanguard or pirates of the burning sea there graphics make that game look like it needs to be on a ps1

Regardless of how good I think Tabula Rasa looks. I think everyone anywhere will agree with me when I say -

the point isnt the graphics, he means 2nd gen mmo gameplay-wise.
ask yourself, has there been an mmorpg since ultima online where you dont click on
an enemy and watch the fight till one of em wins? i dont think so.
well this is an mmofps as said in the first post, hence its clear that its completely different gameplay. why do people always have to assume, that if someone announces something new, it has to be a new gfx engine and shit?
seems that pc gaming is really devoid of gameplay these days.
