|
 |
I just installed this one and I've tried Securerom Loader w/ Daemon Tools which made the game load and before it went into the options screen, it would sit there forever until I finally rebooted.
Then I tried CureROM Pro 1.3.1 and it did the same. So I attempted to change from Daemon to Alcohol which worked fine..
Now my problem is the following:
Playing the game is fine, however when I click on quit after I'm done, my computer reboots. I said random, but it's probably not random as I think it does this everytime. I plan to buy the game tonight, however I need to know if this is from using the emulation (if anyone knows) or if the actual cd will do this, because they won't take it back after I've opened it.
Stats:
P4 2.4
512Mb DDR-2700
Radeon 128bit 9800 Pro - Latest drivers
Any help you can provide would be great.

Update:
It just rebooted in-game as well.. I'll let everyone know what happens when I get the actual cd.. I'll try running it from the install I have now as it should work unless there's something up w/ the clone..

Agreed.. I just bought the game, ran it w/ cd1 and it did the same thing.. I'm currently uninstalling it *sigh* and will try installing w/ the 5cd's it came with.. I guess I'll clear it from the registry before-hand too..
Will update on what happens.

No difference.. I uninstalled it (which took about 20mins?) and then cleared 'Aspyr' and 'Tony' from the registry and then reinstalled all 5cd's. I even uninstalled CureROM thinking that could be causing it..
It rebooted during the game this time.. again if I click Quit it still reboots too.. could Catalyst 6.2 drivers be causing something that strange? I could revert back to older drivers if anyone thinks it will help..
Needless to say I'm not exactly thrilled that the game now runs *identical* after buying it than when I was using the clone.. I've got a support ticket opened w/ Aspyr, but I'm sure they're really gonna care... They'll tell me to get all the latest drivers and reinstall Windows like most software companies do.. =P
Anyone have any ideas?

Got a reply from Aspyr:
"Make sure all other programs are disabled, this includes anti-virus, anti-spyware, firewall, and emulation software. I hope this helps. Have a nice day."
So I guess Aspyr wants me to make my machine vulnerable to everything on the internet so I can play their game.. nice..
