I used CureRom on the sweaw.exe file (is that the correct one?) in C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Empire at War\GameData , but that doesn't work because running the created file on my Desktop gives me
Quote:
A required security module can not be activated. This program can not be executed.
And then, of course, it quits.

Can someone give me instructions on how to get this to work? Smile

Thanks! Very Happy

How do I know which files I am missing? I have 103 files in my \Star Wars Empire at War folder.

By the way, your English is a bit hard to understand.

I don't think you miss any files.
Do you run any other programs besides Curerom?

I run Daemon Tools as well. I'm not quite sure what the process is; maybe I'm doing something wrong. Could someone please explain how to get it working, step by step? I'm sure others would appreciate it, as well.

Try securom loader instead, get it from daemon tools site, much easier.

I have that. It does not work, either. Can you give explicit steps on how to use it to make it work?

Double click on the securom loader .exe, point it to LucasArts\Star Wars Empire at War\GameData\sweaw.exe , you may need to disable your IDE optical drive. I use external DVD so not sure if that needed.

I get the following:

Quote:

Does that mean I have to disable my optical drive? How do I do that? I didn't have to do that for Civilization 4.

I run it and it says I have nothing to hide, so I guess I'm fine on that.

So then, why do I get that error message?

I believe I got it working now.

Fix is:

Quote:
have the same problem , but got something that works for me :

when i tried to play Something was Denied in my Registry.(to get to your registry Click the start button, then Run, then Type in regedit

at this folder HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/System/MountedDevices/

Right
Click the Mounted Devices folder, Click Permissions, Click Advanced,
Look under the "TYPE" header for any labels that say "Deny", if there
are any highlight and click Edit, Check Full Control and "OK". and
Viola!

that might do it.

dl' the game but havn't tried installing. Try running very latest Deamon tools and switch all the emulations on. CureROM does look a bit faffy and havn't tried it.

I remember using SFcure on X3 and that worked, so could give that a go.

Maybe get the SFCure kit?
