Heres a problem im trying to work out for a customer at work. They have a whole group of numbers and want them arranged in order. for example
3 7 8
5 2 9
1 6 4

is there a simple way in excel to have these rearranged in numerical order?
i know u can do it in ur head quickly but what needs to be done is for like a 200x200 grid. and working it out on a small grid will be easier!

If you're doing it like that though on such a large grid wouldn't A1 and B1 / A2 be related in some way? it'd be much better use use functions such as max min average.

Data > sort wont work coz it only sorts left/right or up/down.. not both at the same time.

well like i said it would be much easier to use formulas. what exactly is it you're trying to do anyway? Also like i said usually the cells by the side / below it are connected in some way such as:

Date from Date to size weight

or

Date From
Date to
Size
Weight

Depending on how you lay it all out.
