http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0469641/

the first movie of what happened in New York and inside the collapsed WTC on September 11, 2001.

this movie will focus around Nicolas Cage, a fire officer that, like many others NY fire officers were called to work in the day that NY turned into a battlefield.

I honestly think that despite of the criticism, this movie should be made, there are movies about some really horrible things that happen in WW2 and some of those movies still remain unforgotten.

and Nicolas Cage is a really good choice for this movie.

I wouldn't be suprised if it did.

this movie is directed by Oliver Stone, remember the movie JFK?

I believe that one of the main reasons that this movie is being made by Oliver Stone is exactly to show the thruth of what really happened inside WTC and around it.

and I think this movie will be good for another reason, that day everyone around the world saw the massive attack on U.S. soil that killed some thousands of people.

what this movie will show is the that same event we all saw, but from the perspective of someone who really lived it, the personal emotions and moral dilemas of a simple unknown fire figther that tried everything humanly possible to save as many people as he could from those 2 collapsing sky scrappers.

Aslong as it isnt going to be some propaganda movie like "Saving Private Ryan" then it could make a fine movie.

That it will be. Instead of just ending with Old Glory, it will be a full 90 minute montage of various flags and bumper stickers on pickup trucks.

yea.. not an oscar winning actor. Damn what was he thinking!?!?

I think this film will suck. It will no doubt get race reviews amongst the controversy. This doesn't sound like a good plot at all because much of the public who go into the cinema's will have their own versaion of events, and when it doesn't show their side they'll be frustrated.

I bet it will have the cliche's of him seeing pretty women dead in the rubble and his friend will die, and at the end he will go home to his family looking forlorn.

Quite a lot of that may have happened, but it's so predictable I don't think it can be good.

I knew it, Oliver was destined to make at least one movie about this. I wonder if he's gonna criticize anything in it?

There's another one coming soon btw, about one of the planes instead of the buildings

convicent? Convincing? And yes I know he's good, particularly in leaving las vegas which I think he won an oscar for too. I don't know why he doesn't like him, but it's hardly madness to employ an oscar winner. Maybe i shoulda used sarcasm tags Rolling Eyes

A movie being predictable doesn't mean the movie will not be good.

J.F.K.
Lord of the Rings
Titanic
Romeo and Juliet

all those movies were predicatble, we knew exactly how they were going to end and they made history.

what matters it's the way the history is told, not the history itself Smile

He should have brought in someone who was unknown in the movie world... Take Ladder 49 as a great example it should had been done without Phoenix nor Travolta it could have saved the movie..

But then look at B-movies and how frustratingly bad those actos can be. On such a touchy subject like this it's a big gamble to give the roll to a bit-parter and expect them to take centre stage.

Ronhrin knowing the storyline isn't the same as making up a fresh 'new' storyline that will be so predictable and chiche'd.

Wow, what could possibly go wrong with such an accomplished writer as Andrea Berloff on board?

Code:
Andrea Berloff

Writer - filmography
(In Production) (2000s)

   1. Don't Look Now (2007) (announced)
   2. Harry & Caresse (2006) (announced)
   3. World Trade Center (2006) (post-production)
   4. Domestic (2002)

It's probably too much to hope for a 30 minute Maria Bello nude scene? Right?

I know these aren't even remotely close to being the same genre, but neither is WTC and anything kubrik did Razz .... and no I wouldn't consider dr. strangelove at all close to it.

They both describes different things during the Vietnam war, but overall Full Metal Jacket was a little better yes. Really enjoyed the way you got into the head of the men in the first half of the movie.

nope, see the last watched movie thread. NBK = slick. Ok some of 2001 was good like the special effects, but that's about it. It's fucking shit and boring.
