I have a strange problem when installing Commandos Strike Force on my XP PC.
I mount the game with D-tools (latest). I can run the installer normally but the screen where you get to choose the installl path says:
Install %P to: \Eidos\Pyro Studios\Commandos Strike Force
I change the path to the correct partition (in my case f:\) but in the final "settings" screen the path is empty. All settings are default (language etc). The only components I leave out are Gameshadow and DirectX (since I already have the latest version) Next step the game starts to install with no errors. Finallly it asks for a shortcut on the desktop, normally not needed but ok, I click Yes.
Back on my desktop there's no shortcut and the game folder I changed during installation is present but empty. The install has, however, created (and filled) my C:\Windows directory with sub folders Maps, Sound s and Videos (total size roughly 4GB). The gamefile to start the game (commxpc.exe) is nowhere to be found.
No virusscanners running here. Drivers and updates are the latest.
Somebody any ideas?
