According to this news article Ubisoft quits using Starforce protection on there new games
When it rains, it pours at StarForce
Several websites are reporting that Ubisoft employees have confirmed StarForce DRM will not show up in upcoming Ubisoft titles. Galaad from CelestialHeavens.com (a Heroes of Might and Magic Fansite) claims Ubisoft and Nival are dropping StarForce DRM completely.
The original forum thread (English) contains a Ubisoft employee claiming "We have decided that the anti-copy protection used on the future Ubisoft games won't be the StarForce software" (translated French to English). There was no mention of what DRM would replace StarForce, though comments from other employees among the Ubi forums indicate that no future Ubisoft titles will be DRM-free.
StarForce, the DRM software for several high profile PC games, has been in the news a few times over the last several months. Three months ago, the company drew some attention for a bet made with its users. Comments made by some of the StarForce employees later helped skyrocket the sales of a competing product, and then to round things off Ubisoft sued StarForce a few weeks ago anyway.

Too many ppl complaint . Just reading the official board and everybody complaint .
I bet most of the fire was started by pirates but it look like it really worked .
Good job , they beated it .

To Starforcefan :
1 . The only good thing that made Russia is Vodka not Starforce
2 . Starforce protection was in use and developmemnt with updates like 3 - 5 years and still starforce drivers make some getto modifications to my cd/dvd rom drivers and USB drivers
(turn pio read mode when they are checking the cd/dvd and at the same time damage my reader , its like tring to get 220km in the first gear )
3 . If you read the sf forums you will see that - support don`t exist , they only say that they are not responsible for the damaged drivers , YOU are (by buying starforce games) ,
4 . and the best thing is they thing they are All Mighty posting torrents saing that "it was pirated becoz it had not starforce"
5 . They made the sf remover only becoz to hide the side effects :
a) Turns Pio read mode for your Hdd when you are in the windows emergency mode
b) Made errors in USB with sticks , pads and USB HDD
c) Nero 6 and 7 after inserting the sf drivers would not work after one week - like the sf would turn some dooms day clock in it
d) and other side effects ...
6 . They say that they are the best and the bugs don`t exist so they made a contest to fly to Russia and prove that your comps is defective of starforce - ok first of all give me money to fley there and not to buy a plane ticked from my own wallet , and even when they found a error they will confiscate your pc giving you only the prize money so i could buy a new comp - yeah right if i lived thrugh the lawer carp to see it .
7 . the only thing that they update are those black listing procedures and not the bugs - reminds me of the Y2K problem  and now we see the side effects ...
So you see starforce is a good protection but buggy as HELL , but i still think that TAGES is way better then SF .

pirates are only a small community, all the people buying their games and getting fucked in the ass by Starforce ... now that's where the real complaints at.

I think everybody knows what STARFORCE can do to our PCs ... Many WORLD MAGAZINES, simple pp, show us what they do, and after buying some games myself that has the protection and having some problems that require FORMAT C: I decided never to buy another starforce game... It's not about piracy, because the one that has the pirate version don't has the problems regarding this drives ... so, only the ones that bought the games !!! For that I congratulate UBISOFT
