If this fails to correct the problem, we recommend you RENAME (not delete) the entire C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\ folder and try again. You may rename the folder to anything you like, but we recommend something similar to 'InstallShield-old'. |
From a different bit of software, but no doubt the same solution..

i deleted the folder (C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\Professional\RunTime\0701 )
and the install popped up just as it should. much appreciated

i have a problem also the game works very slow and every thing is black i mean all the texture is black . i have geforce 5700 2gb ram 3.0 intel . and i try the latest nvidia drives and the latest nvidia beta drivers . and it didnt help what should i do ?

I dont think you video card is up to the task.
minimum specs
* 2 GHz Pentium® IV or the equivalent
* 1Gb RAM
* 5 GB of hard drive space
* NVIDIA® GeForce™ 6/7 or ATI® Radeon® 9600-9800/X

Got a slightly different problem. I'm getting this error on start up.
Crash in application version: grpcrc1.02
[Application::setup_scenes] Failed loading scene config file!
I know it's a long shot, but has anyone had this and solved it. First game in ages for me that won't run straight of the bat. My machine meets the requirements.
EDIT: Nevermind, I've got a problem with windows. It's not liking files or folders begining with Q, which was screwing up the install. Looks like I need to re-install windows.
Weirdest problem ever.

I get the splashscreen, then the screen turns black.
After that, the screen turns blue and the pc locks up.
It's like a BSOD, but without any text :S
Specs:
AMD 2800+
1.5 gb ram
ATI X850XT
WinXP SP2
DX 9.0c
Anybody got a clue?

and here with 6600gt the game works fine but sudenly it goe's slow as hell and after few long secs its moving fine again and again slow...what the hell is this?
i updated and gfx card driver... what els?

my problem was thecnical...my card had bad cooling and he got over heated so...that was the problem in my case.
i think you will be able to run it with out big problem...if it will be heavy-just take some settings to mid and low and you will be fine i guess.

It is a creative sound card problem, if you have onboard sound use that and uninstall the creative.

noone else seems to be having this problem so i dont know if anyone can help
during setup i get an error message:
crc error: the file c:\program files\ubisoft\ghost recond advanced warfighter\data\movies\menu_main.bik doesn't match file in the setup's .cab file. the medium from which you are running setup may be corrupted
i press ignore and it continues (abort closes setup, retry brings the same message). installation completes
when i go to run the game the screen goes black and an error message appears and closes
the details of the error message are:
Appname: graw.exe appver: 0.0.0.0 ModName:nvopenal.dll
ModVer: 5.10.2934.0 Offset:000090ca
does anyone have a solution?

1. try copy some other bink file to replace menu_main.bik
2. if that doesn't work, uninstall, copy all files from dvd/dvd image to a temp dir on HD and install from there
3. go shoot ubi/grin/microsoft for making shitty code
