I know man...
Still, in my mind, the medals/trophies I have from my days competing are worth alot and should be worth alot. I have a diamond ring, 1999 SKI (Sport Karate International) ring that you get if u win your division at the world championships.
Wish it was worth 20 million

Not really. The EPL is the most expensive league in the world. I'm not sure how much money is spent over a season but it's a few billion.

Really? For football?
What teams are in the english premier league?
I wonder if they cover it in Canada? A salary cap like that indicates talent and entertainment. Only leagues I see covered (on saturdays and sundays) are the italian league (sometimes UEFA or whatever its called) and the spanish league.

Well try Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Everton, Newcastle, Manchester City
The EPL has about 10 of the highest 20 in the world of revenue. This doesn't include TV revenue which has been incresed further. Noone knows the exact specifics but Sky have bought the majority of the games to be shown on TV (about 80 lives ones or somethin like that) for about £1.2 Billion. Of course this gets given to the individual clubs, but it's because of sky and their PPV back in the 90#s that football has raised so much.
The manager who gave the medal away is on a salary of 5 million a year.
even with all this revenue, ticket sales, shirts etc. Quite a lot of clubs are losing money.
Chelsea who who it this year lost about 100 million because of thier super high wages alone exceeding income.
Of course chelsea are buying the worlds best players and pushing up the prices etc. because they have one of the worlds richest men funding it all with no deisre for a loss here or there.
Add onto things such as sponsorship, merchandise, etc. It's a huge pool of money that hopefully will have a wage cap on in the future. But it will have to be a europe-wide thing because it's so easy for players to move between clubs to the highest paying one.

Hmmm...I didnt know football was so big. I knew it was big but...i dunno how to explain it, just not as big as it seems to be.
Are English league games exciting? I hate watching games where basically all thats happening is the ball is being kicked from one end of the field to the other and no real action is going on - like some cool dekes or shots or cross'/corners etc

of course some matches are shit, but others are good. The EPL is known as 'the best league in the world'/ There are only 3 main one's really. The EPL, Primera liga (Spanish league with teams such as Barcelona and Real madrid etc.) And Serie A (Italy's top flight, containing Juventus, Ac Milan, Roma, inter Milan etc)
Of course each country has lower divisions which each get their own revenue too. On a football website a few weeks ago I think the average wage of a footballer was about 50,000 (a year) . and that's including players down in the lower leagues who only attract crowds of 1,000. It may not seem a lot when compared to players who get 100,000 a week but considering that mainstream jobs such as being a nurse is only on about 30,000 it's deffo not right.
