i wonder if the final price of the isp gonna increase?
the hdtv will sure give them a good excuse...

as long as hdtv don't interfere with our beloved fast transfer protocols, i don't mind.

I think ISP should start thinking real someday. Thank god they still do in sweden (most of them atleast). The numbers of ISP's having limits for the internet connection is just silly. Users should be allowed to use the bandwith they pay for as they feel like.

Also HDTV... is it just me not feeling THAT excited about it?

I take it you've never watched an HDTV broadcast. The difference it makes in sports is absolutely unbelievable.

Most of the time if you buy a new HDTV from Best Buy/Futureshop Rogers' or Bell will throw in a free receiver rental ... although Roger's only charges $10 month to rent one ($300 to buy) or $20 for the PVR version ($600 to buy)...

I'm still waiting for the right sale to buy a new TV ... (been waiting for like 6 months now)...

Sad

If it works with normal channels too then I'd get it. I only got one tv in the house and having two boxes sorts fucks me up Laughing

Well ... at least wait until next hockey season to pay for it Wink

But it sucks because many games are STILL not in HD... I don't know if you watch NFL, but the difference in picture quality between HD and SD is crazy ... (I leech HDTV watching off a friend Wink)

I think its just you. If you have every watched a sporting event in HD like Nouse said you will be completely blown away. Hockey looks amazing. And discovery channel HD is so, sooooooo much better looking. I have a copy of Constantine in HD, and even the WB intro looks 10 times better than on the DVD.

And for consoles. Amped 2 for Xbox in 720p looks almost as good, if not as good as Amped 3 for Xbox360.

Now I just need a new projector to do 1080p instead of just 1080i.

HDTV looks really great compared to PAL or NTSC resolutions. I watch all my favorite shows in 720p, too bad my tv can't handle 1080i or 1080p, but it still looks great.

Holy shit! recievers have gone down in price. I think is was year and half ago it was over $1000 with shaw.

What type of TV do you want to get? Future shop might have a Boxing day sale but who wants to shop on boxing day.

I still have the 52 inch. The guy that was going to move out decided that he needed more then $100/month spending money since he spends that in one night at the bar.

I'm thinking of getting a 37 inch LCD ... but I'm really not set on anything (I settled on this one in my old apartment where space was a big issue, but not so much anymore) ... They always have that 36 month no interest/equal payment plan at futureshop and best buy, so I have to figure out how much I really want to spend on it a month (rent, car, student loans, bills, drinking/weed add up pretty fast as it is) ...

something like this one:
http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/subclass.asp?logon=&langid=EN&catid=23524

I've been looking at getting a TV for soooo long but I can't seem to make a decision ... my current TV (shitty RCA 25") is on the fritz so it might be soon! Very Happy

I think it depends on the game ...

from wiki..
Quote:
EDTV and HDTV Support: 480p/720p/1080i (see game boxes for supported resolutions).

and a list of games that support it Wink
