Hello there,

I'm currently using Azureus wich I like, plenty of options and settings... However my computer doesn't seems to like Java at all. And if I let Azureus running for a couple of hours, it'll start taking a really good ammount of my precious RAM. I'm looking for another good Torrent client who doesn't use Java and use a lower ammount of RAM & CPU usage... I know there's a buch out there but I really don't want to try them all Surprised That said, Wich one should I try?

Thanks!

LOL... How strange.. I was going to ask this exact question at about 3pm untill I finally found out it was my router that was the problem and not the software!!! Very Happy

Currently using Azureus but will try utorrent now Smile

uTorrent is good if you want an userfriendly torrentclient, the good thing with BitComet is that u can book off which files you want and do not want to download.

What I like about utorrent is that you don't install it, just an exe, easier and smaller.

Bitcomet is buggy and is banned on more and more trackers. Sure you can use it if you download from open trackers or whatever, most closed ones have banned it though...

Also µTorrent is really fast and has all settings you can ever need.. Very Happy

Oh did I say that µTorrent uses almost no memory? Razz

I used all above and found that Bitspirit Download Link does the job best. Azureus takes up to much CPU (µTorrent is probably best there) but Bitspirit is just so dam fast compared with the others at least for me.

How can a torrentclient be faster than the other of them? doesn't they use the same technology?

maybe different default settings???

eg Bit Tornado seems to take AGES for a torrent to start downloading for me where as with utorrent or azureus its almost instant..

Yea I know what you mean there. I only base this assumption on my own experience. I had Azureus and I experienced really slow dl speed with one file. I sorta gave up on it and switched to Bitspirit and the same file ran like 120-150 kb/s form running maybe 10-15 kb/s up and down with Azureus. Again only my experience. But I have read that a lot of ppl say the same about Bitspirit. Could be my specific set up that just works better with Bitspirit, who knows, all I know is that it just works great. I never have slowdowns or anything like that (had a lot using Azureus)
Depending Seed/Leecher ratio, but I run basically at 150-280 kb/s always. My line is 3 Mb .
