Well it happened my sister accidently downloaded a virus and I managed to rid it but not entirely now I cant boot into windows i can boot into safe mode but not safemode with networking even tried the "Last known working config" and that didnt work either so now im burning all my mp3's and stuff 120gb of stuff in safe mode and its taking 50 mins to burn 1 dvd 4g!???? man wtf am I missing something here? what gives?

try looking for programs that startup when booting windows with msconfig. Perhaps that will work

Thats what I'm going to do, after I've backed everything up I'll reformat everything and do a fresh install....still I kick myself for not backing everything up before too lazy I guess :/

and next time use partitionmagic, create some partitions and have only windows or ur op sys in c, and some other apps. the rest, move it to the other drives. will be easier. and if you have a big hdd then you may want to do a ghost image with norton ghost. then takes only 7 min to format and reinstall winndows with all apss and drivers

Yeah, +1 vote for this method, though I had everything on a 120g hd (back when 120 was big Razz

), and bought a 300 a while ago and moved everything I could onto that, and left windows/apps on the 120, in case of situations like this Razz

You could d/l a livecd like Bart PE (http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/) and boot off that and try to sort shit out, but I haven't used it myself, only heard about it.
