The letter X is not appropriate as a first name for a baby boy, a court in Stockholm has decided.

The decision by the administrative court of appeal overrules a lower court judgement which allowed a couple to name their son

I wonder what the parents are going to do if they can't even find Google.

I think it's crap to name the son the exact same name as the father. I would hate that.

It's almost like a form of egotism in my opinion. At least give them their own identity set apart from their parents.

I think a name should be more than 1 letter. They need to buy a vowel.

I know of a couple that named their daughter China. Her middle name was Lily.

I don't know about the rest of you but Here, " China Lily" is a brand of soy sauce. Now that is a kid I feel sorry for.

You hear a lot of strange names in a hospital.

True story.
There was a couple and their last name was pronounced Fa-heart (sounds like fart)
they wanted to name the kid Arshall pronounced like arse-hole. Arse-hole fart. The nurse explained what the name sounded like. So the next name they chose was enal (sounds like anal) That that is what the kids name is. - Anal Fart

hahaha

We call our childs after our parents names. So every 2 generations you get the same names. Kinda lame but what can you do in such close society Confused

My name is from father to son exactly the same as it was in 1365.
And I am proud of that.

My family is nobility ('van adel' is waht we call it in Dutch).

Noble families aren't exactly rare.

Lower nobility ofcourse. Don't exactly expect you to be a Habsburg. Wink

Red book, actually. The Blue book describes affluent Dutch families not belonging to nobility, but have still made a difference to the Netherlands each generation for at least 150 years.

Nee, Praetori.
het blauwe boekje beschrijft de families die lagere adel zijn, wat je al zei.(mijn familienaam staat daar dus ook)
Het rode boekje daarentegen beschrijft de hogere adel.

So my family is in the blue book.

In my family its a tradition to name the first born son after the grandfather,
so its been like name1-name2-name1-name2... for generations.
so now it would be up to me to name my son after my father.
