Running at 60 frames-per-second and using Unreal Engine 4, Moto Racer 4 is the continuation of the Moto Racer trilogy, which has sold over seven million copies. Paul Cuisset, the series’ original designer, is supervising development.
Saying it “revives the winning formula that made the original trilogy so successful,” Moto Racer 4 features 15 single and multiplayer modes, including Single Race, Championship, Time Trial, and more:
King of the Hill – Each rider starts with the same time on the clock. While time runs down for the leader, the other racers get extra turbo. The first player to get their counter down to zero wins the race.
Last Man Standing – The last player to pass each checkpoint is eliminated.
Survival – The race starts with very little time on the clock. Players gain time by passing the checkpoints. In single-player mode, the aim is to survive for a specific length of time. In multi-player mode, the winner is the last player with time left on their clock.
Catch-Up – Opponents begin the race with a headstart and the player reach first place by a specific time.
Wolf Pack – The player begins the race with a headstart and must maintain it for a certain length of time without being overtaken.
Ghost Bike – The player starts the race in last place and is not allowed to deviate from the road or collide with others. S/he must finish in a specified minimum place.
Golden Helmet – Competitors must earn the one golden helmet up for grabs during the race. To do this, they must be first past the initial checkpoint. If the player wearing the golden helmet is hit by another player, s/he surrenders it to that player. If a player falls off their bike, s/he loses the helmet and it is automatically sent to the next checkpoint.
Additionally, there’s a split-screen multiplayer mode, online multiplayer mode for 2-10 players, vehicle and rider customization, and traffic on the road.[/quote]

With more than 7 million units sold, the first “Moto Racer” trilogy was critically acclaimed by both the media and the public. It left a marked impact in the history of video games, especially among the raging two-wheel-motor racing fans. Everyone can enjoy the series, and though it has evolved, it remains for many players synonymous for great fun and fierce multiplayer races.
In partnership with Paul Cuisset, creator of the saga, Microïds and Artefacts studio actively put the title back on track with a new episode that remains faithful to the essence of the series and everything that made its reputation. Developed with Unreal Engine 4, Moto Racer 4 still equally features Motocross and powerful motorbikes races on asphalt. The many challenges include speed and entertainment, aerial maneuvers and huge crashes. In a straight line, the racing cars can reach over 185 miles per hour, which could be very dangerous on busy roads. However, the more risks the players take, the more points they get to customize both pilots and bikes quickly.
Play fair or not?
Each non-player contestant will have his own personality and driving style and might even remember that a player misbehaved against him. Because, although Moto Racer 4 focuses on motor sports, it does not forbid knocking the opponents over or skidding in front of them to obstruct their sight. The human opponents will remember for sure those bad manners online (up to 10 contestants) or on a split screen on the same machine.
(was pretty sure there already was a topic for it , but search came up with nothing)

It's ok. nothing special. sense of speed is there, performance is good overall, but there's a noticeable framedrop/hitch when you hit a wall or drive through grass. not always, but when it does happen it's quite jarring due to the sheer speed of the game. you can see it happen near the end. looks like a physics issue. saw others mention the same.
It's pretty challenging and has decent variety. there's a career mode with upgrades and a betting system that allows you to predict your place in the upcoming race.
For example, if you say you will finish first, but end up second, you don't unlock the next level. or at least that's how I understood it in my brief testing. controls feel a bit janky at first, so there is definitely a learning curve.
Multiplayer is a ghost town on release day, so can't comment on that. couldn't find a single game. there is split screen so if you are into local MP, might be a blast.
